Would someone with unlimited data test and see if WIFI is primary over mobile data?

I have the 2gig plan. Ugh, yes a mere mortal...

Auto WIFI / mobile data "on/off" control apps burn more battery than they are worth for me and a got a bad vibe from llama when it kept auto restarting itself when I had exited it.

Tried llama, auto wifi, etc.

If WIFI is primary over mobile data I could just leave both on all the time and while at home not use up my limited data, but if it is not, then I will have to be VERY attentive to cutting off mobile data when I am on WIFI.

If someone would test "if they use any significant mobile data when both WIFI and mobile data are on" it would help me out ALOT.

If there is an app that makes WIFI primary/used first instead of mobile data, I would like to know that as well.

Thanks in Advance,
McGyver

When connected to wifi, mobile data shuts off. I have unlimited and my GF is on tiered. She just uses wifi whenever possible and used less than 1/2 a gig last month. No need to shut off mobile data when connected to wifi. Hope this answers your question.

I doubt you'd top 2gb's a month unless you're a dowloading fiend. just use the verizon data usage widget. leaving wi-fi on will drain batt. If wifi is available and you're going to be browsing/downloading then yes use it. but i wouldn't worry too much about going over too much

Basically if you don't use your phone for cool stuff like Netflix etc. You won't go over your 2 gigabyte plan. Remember Verizon does this to make money. Sorry you pay a penny more for limited gigabytes.

Proud of my bloated D3, I don't miss unstable roms on my D1 at all!

Yes, WiFi is primary over 4G/3G. When wiFi is activated the 4G or 3G designation will change from blur to white and you will also not see the little arrows under the designation light-up. You can also test this by installing the app "My Data Manager Plan." It give a running total of both WiFi and Data, plus the amounts of each an app, widget, or system item uses.

BTW I use Beautiful Toggle Widgets to control things like bluetooth and WiFi on and off. Real easy, just tap and the state will change.

If connected to a wifi connection then 3g/4g will never be used. I have a wireless network that had no internet connection and when connected I can not access anything on the web until I turn off my phone's wifi.

Unplug the modem on your network and you will see that you will not get any Web access. Because even then it will not switch over to mobile data.

Or youtube. I know one day I spent an hour or two on youtube and burned 200 megabytes. That made me really glad I'm on the unlimited plan.

Use data enabler.... its a widget that shuts down data.... I use it because.wifi uses less battery then both on together or 4g alone... u wont get mms like pic messages but you'll get it when u turn it back on

Im on unlimited and 4g uses waaaaay more data then I ever have on any other phone I've had

Quite frankly if I use the bionic the way I WANT to use it in would be at 15 gigs monthly. I am grandfathered unlimited so at times I use it with blind abandon.

The main limitation I have is spotty 4g coverage on the outskirts of metro areas.

I love the Bionic (rooted) and the lte. I am mobile 12 hours daily so until I get home or back to the office.

You can log in to your Verizon account and have it email and/or text you when you get to 50, 75, and 90%??? I think. That way you can use as you please and then throttle back if you starting getting up there in data usage.

I wouldent say use as you please. Ive had days of close to 3GB. That one day and your screwed.
