4g just went live in my area....unbelievable. this is why I bought a 4g phone. Had no clue of a timeline for it but its here. I cannot believe the speed of my galaxy nexus now. Who's happy.....this guy!

Seriously though, LTE is super nice... I took it for granted until I was on a 3G phone again for awhile. It suffices most of the time, but once you get used to having 4G with you most of the time, you get spoiled, to say the least.
I came to VZW from T-Mobile and 3G was killing me on my X2. Having great coverage was awesome and the speed was adequate, but I had been spoiled by 6-8MB downloads. When I got my Nexus I was very happy I switched. 4G is amazing and yes generally faster than what I had on T-Mobile (sometimes its a wash). 4G/LTE is a game changer.
Convinced my cousin to buy the Rezound this week since they had that $49 deal(He's super cheap won't buy a Nexus). He's supposed to get his phone today, waiting to get the call from him saying "holy **** 4g's fast."
Just got 4G out here in the woods outside of Baton Rouge and am very pleased. I do however now have a charger in both cars, in the kitchen, next to my chair in the den, next to my bed, on my work desk, out in the shop, . . . . . . . Well, you get the idea.
You HAVE to get an extended battery nowadays which is one reason why I love my bionic. I also have a standalone charger so while one battery is being used, one of the other two is on the charger. Also one of the reasons why the razr maxx is better than the nexus IMHO. I don't believe in turning off 4g EVER. Bionic is perfect for switching out batteries and it has the coolest looking extended battery style without looking fat and ugly like some other phones I wont mention
99% of people don't need extended batteries to last the whole day with 4g, I know I don't. We all aren't streaming netflix and hitting 40gigs before our months over, or using 4G as our internet service at home like some people I won't mention.

So far I have not had my Nexus die on me other than once when I let it because I had calibrated the battery. I mean, I have multiple chances to charge it during the day as well, but I definitely don't need an extended battery, like you said. So I agree here.
Like others have said, I don't much enjoy turning off 4G when I am USING my phone. So I have my phone set up to shut 4G off and switch to 3G after being asleep for 5 minutes.
