X2 for 16yo

Struggling with this decision. I already posted this in for the Bionic and Charge but how about the X2, which is free from Amazon right now.

I'm interested in some opinions of owners. My son is 16. This would be his first smartphone. I don't think he needs the latest and greatest but the Bionic, Charge and maybe Inc2 are options.

I have one and love it. Solid construction, metal frame, gorilla glass. It cant survive everything but will survive better than plastic phones.

It's reasonably easy to modify, i.e. flash a ROM, which I recommend doing as it greatly increases performance; it's also super easy to return to stock in case you ever need to send it in to Verizon or he messes it up playing with software.

I'm my opinion it's the best 3g phone in Verizons' lineup.

I am 14 and have a D2G. I like it. I would prefer something like a droid charge or bionic. I would rather have 4g... Just a better choice for the future. IMO the bionic is the best choice... It has the best specs and is pretty cool.

I have the X2 and i just recently came from the Inc. i am extremely happy with this phone of course I ditched the factory rom and loaded Eclipse 1.3 running it with the ICS theme and the Bionic camera because the one biggest flaw on this phone is the camera terrible! I loved the camera on my Inc now with the bionic camera it is a whole different camera,unfortunately not as good as the Inc but still better then stock.
My nephew had the Bionic and recently was upgraded to the Razor for free because there are just so many bugs in that phone that Big Red decided to just give him the upgrade for free. i know how lucky is that !!!?
