YEAH baby! My Demo will be here today!

The thunderbolt has a max capacity of storag. e the 40 gigs
The byronic has a max storage capacity of 48 gigs
the droid bionic has a dual core processor and a better battery life.
And from what I've been told motorola is the way to go when your in a low coverage areas. The thunderbolt does have a front facing flash camera and a little more ram, but then again I'm not a fan of htc sense so again I could just the matter of choice and or opinions. Have a good day

I think sense is actually a big reason why people would pick the TB over the Bionic even if they came out at the same time. That might sound crazy to some people, but, I never said I wasn't crazy. Moto blur = bleh, at least for me.

Also, yes the bionic has a bigger battery and dual core 'should' be more efficient, saying it already has better battery life when it's minimum 2 months from being released is a tad presumptuous.

Since neither phone has been released to the public I don't know how that statement can hold any water.

Your right, my bad. I was going off a comparison of Droid X vs Droid Inc.
The history of it Moto being better on battery seems to hold a pattern. My og droid has better battery then my girls Eris, Droid X has better battery than the Dinc. The battery specs seems to be greater on the Bionic than the TB. And with the fact that Motorola seems to pick up better reception HTC in low coverage areas, that means less time searching for a better signal hence better on the battery. Also, Dual core is less battery consuming as well.

You got me. I agree about HTC sense. But, I have a feeling that Bionic is going to run 2.3 Blur.

You make a good case for the Bionic having better battery life in the long run though. But that being said, I don't think anyone should have super high hopes as far as battery life on any of these upcoming 4g devices.

Not sure if this is a TBolt GPS issue or a Foursquare app issue, but my "Places" widget won't work correctly, and when I have GPS turned on, it still doesn't locate any close places to check in. This seems to be my first noticeable glitch with the TBolt!

Is the GPS itself accurate? Have you used Google Nav to get somewhere?

That was one thing I hadn't tested as of yet. I just used Google Nav and my Geocaching app (c:geo) successfully. Also, Foursquare did work, just the Widget doesn't (it says LOADING and never loads, so I deleted it to conserve battery).

Considering the difference in release dates, I would love for someone to talk me into the TB though. Obviously upgrading asap is the goal, but not regretting it 30 days later is a preference IMO. Thank goodness for threads like these.
Thanks for all your input guys/gals.

This is all kinda crazy... this thread is about the HTC Thunderbolt, it's features, functionality, and questions about the Demo I have.

If you are going to wait for the Bionic, that's perfectly cool, but let's use the Bionic threads to talk about that, not try and put the Thunderbolt threads in an uproar. Neither phone has been released yet, and once they both are, then comparisons can be made, but right now this is all speculation!

Guess I will step off now... :soapbox:

Didn't mean to get off topic.. appreciate the insight you've given on the TB in this thread.

Yeah, sorry about that. Back to your thunderbolt demo thread. I should have known that this is the WorldofJohnnyboy.

I'll unsubscribe instead.

Anyone know of a "real-time" battery app? (I am talking one that does an in-depth real time look at your battery usage, "life prediction," etc.)

I want to see how quickly my battery drains and an estimate of time remaining on the charge.

I've always used Battery Left since I got the extended battery for my OG Droid. The only drawback is that you have to fully charge and then let it die basically a couple of times to calibrate it to make it totally accurate. Sometimes the running till it dies is not convenient. It gives you a percentage of battery life left, shows what is using how much battery, it has many very neat features. On the market place there is a free version as well as a paid one which gives you more (obviously). I've only ever used the free one, but I think it is a very good app. I am thinking about getting the paid version when I get the TB.

Thanks. Just downloaded, hoping to get it calibrated soon. For the weekend, this shouldn't be an issue to let it die to calibrate.

Well.... In a way it IS, since the premise is his demo TB :)

Johnnyboy!

I know you are not a gamer for phones, but how about being a homey and testing out the N64 app anyway? :) Just get a few roms first and download/test the app and refund it :)

I still doubt the 8655 can touch the Tegra 2, but I could be wrong. I KNOW the Tegra 2 is great with N64, but do not know for the TB (8655). This simple test will confirm if the newer Snap REALLY is as good as the Tegra 2. Very clearly it will :)

Thanks! :) ;)
