YEAH baby! My Demo will be here today!

Did you need to have the SIM card to access 3G or make phone calls?

Yes you do.

Also, somewhat related, I tested out the ability to be on a phone call and browse the web at the same time on the 3G network, and confirmed that it DOES support simultaneous Voice and Data!

In my mind, that disputes the myth that one would not get the SIM card until VZW finalizes the LTE pricing structure. I thought that VZW will withhold the SIM card and make you operate only on 3G until LTE pricing is finalized, at which point, they would release the SIM card to you if you want LTE.

Thanks for answering my question! I'd click on the Thanks button, but this forum does not have one!

Much thanks! I expected that is what it would be and am gratified to hear you are getting decent operating life from it.

Yeah, it's been off the charger for 4.5 hours now. With the display set to about 25% brightness, two Exchange email addresses (both set to Push email) and one POP email set to poll every 15 minutes and the battery shows at 50%. Keep in mind that I am also playing with the phone a bit more than I would normally.

It's not an amazing battery by any means, but this 1-2 hours battery life report is not something that I can duplicate unless I was watching the entire Lord of the Rings trilogy while talking to my friend on the phone.

Hey Johnboy. Mind the haters--the Thunderbolt topic is a warzone. Totally appreciate the information and everything! So jealous >.>

The fact that you have one functioning in hand must mean that they can't be far off for us too.

Great to get some real info, even if it does kill my theory of being able to use the Bolt on 3G w/o the LTE SIM card. :o Does this mean Thunderbolt owners will have to sign up for an LTE plan?

o0o0 i have a question..doesn't seem anyone has asked yet..does the led light, light up when you get text's or emails or any other notification?

johnboy if you got a pc try playon.tv on the bolt with the free trial they have. Can't help with the xoom since there is no flash. Or send me the phone I can wifi sync with my playon subscription and do the 4G LTE test for you, ha! ha! Congrats and have fun with the phone. Will have some questions for you later when I have a little extra time later if you don't mind???

Yes it does, and I think it's pretty sweet, too. The LED is actually in the little speakerbar/earpiece at the top/front of the phone, so it looks like it would if you put a headlight behind the front grille of your vehicle.

WorldOfJohnboy,

How would you rate the speaker audio quality? Loudness and clarity from 1-10 (10=best)

Can you take a sample video/photo and post it?

Thank you for all the information - it got me excited about the Thunderbolt again. dancedroid
