Your first impressions on the Note 4

I'm not sure how, but my word that's a lot! ☺
Since I was switching to ART, I assume that included every little system app they only shows in the manager, not just the ones in the app drawer. That's the only way it makes sense.

I downloaded some apps I didn't have on the s4 do to lack of storage, but I know I didn't download enough to be 400,even if you subtract the ones that were already in the drawer thanks to Sammy & vzw.

On another note, greyscale mode is really trippy, but using that along with all the other power saving features GREATLY increased battery life. Wow.

Ok... Phone died because I chose see how far I could stretch the battery. I plugged it in for a bit before turning it back on. When I did, it said Android was upgrading again & that it was optimizing 119 apps. Got quite hot again as well. Hoping it doesn't feel the need to do that every time I restart it...

Yikes! I wouldn't make a habit of running your battery to zero.

No? Didn't think it hurt once in a while. I know there's no need to "condition" these new batteries, but I didn't think it was bad to let them run down.

ART is not ready for prime time in my testing and from others testing on current builds.. I think when the Lollipop drops that's when we get full benefits

Thanks for the advice. I noticed at least one little games that I like to play seemed to not want to run using art. I switched back to dalvik, rebooted so it could optimize apps, & the game works now.

Also didn't seem to get as warm when changing back. Granted, I had it plugged in for 2 of the 3 times that it optimized apps, but it wasn't plugged in when it did the 400.

I also notice the phone seems to run cooler in general than the s4, which is nice. Probably just doesn't have to work as hard with the beefier specs.

It's easy to do for me since I have 3 batteries. It would seem even easier on the Note 4 since theoretically it would charge to 100% in 30ish minutes.
Eh... I never worried about going below 50 before. I'm not saying I'll run it all the way down like that much more, but that seems a bit crazy to me.
