Sounds to me like you didn't go to a verizon store but a store that sells all verizon stuff. "Affiliate" is the problem.Tthere is a difference. I've expericed it first hand. You will always get the best price off the internet or over the phone.

If this came out in four months then it would have only been $113 for me since my 2 year contract is up then.
I got it for $213 when I ordered through the phone on Verizon. The guy actually called me and asked me if I wanted to. The best thing is that I don't have to pay for it till the end of August.

Yeah, so I just figured out why the dude charged you more. I work for a Premium retailer and sold 3 yesterday all at $299 each. On a secondary $9.99 line I lost $54 in commission. On a primary $39.99 line I still lost $10!

It's not right to take it out on the customer by hiking up the cost of the device, but this is definitely an issue for any indirect agents.
