Your Warranty Replacement just might be a Droid 2 / Incredible

I am in the security business (casino surveillance) all over the country and my droid is part of my job so when my replacement did not arrive this morning it started a 3 hour phone ordeal, long story short delivery was promised by noon central time but never shipped because the warehouse was out

I went to VZW on Saturday with issues with the froyo update. They could not establish a data connection after the recovery. After an hour of complaining I should be receiving a Droid 2 under mfg warranty. From what I was told VZW is no longer going to supporting the Droid 1. Also I called asurion and spoke with a supervisor of custom service and was informed that Droid 1 are on national back order. The comparable phone replacements are the devour, Eris or the ally. How do those compare to the Droid 1?

This weekend there were no qty of units loaded in any warehouse. This prevented orders from being placed and shipped. As of Monday morning issue was resolved and we shipped several D1 replacements today.

Jim got lucky and happened to fall into a crack where we couldn't order ANYTHING. Some issues with pending orders and some hoops to jump through... he walked out with a working brand new D2. Luck of the draw. We have to do what we can within our policies to take care of the customer. Sometimes it takes creativity and empathy on the managers part...

Thats funny because according to my tracking information a D1 was shipped from Fort Worth, TX, this past weekend on 8/21/2010 @ 11:51am. Maybe it'll be a D2. I guess I'll know for sure in a couple of hours.
 
Im still waiting on my tracking number. I should have already had seeing it should have shipped and I should get it tomorrow oh well ill make it work

Yeah, they said I should receive it tomorrow, but I still havent gotten a tracking number yet. I guess we'll see what happens tomorrow then.....

I must say everyone at Verizon tech-support and my local 2 corp stores went the extra mile to make things right for me, I am extremely pleased at this time with the level of support I got from all of them once the ball got un-stickied, caused by an unfulfilled order

what are some common accepted claims? or common problems the droid may get
-some D1s have call quality issues (voice sounds muffled on the other end)
-power button loses resistance/"clickiness"

I got my D1 replaced with a refurb for both of the above situations
 
called sunday with a problem with d1 was told they were out of the d1 they are sending me the d2 will have it today
 
calling bluff

I've contacted Verizon and I'm told that they do not send out Droid 2 replacements for Droid 1. They've said they have plenty of Droid 1's in stock and if they're not in stock then they're authorized to wait until the next shipment of original droids arrive.

What's that I smell?

the rep i spoke with told me they were out and they will offer me a d2 so will have it today when i send the d1 back they can ship that out as a replacement all i know is getting a new d2 guess i am lucky or just got a good rep on the phone who knows how to take care of customers.

They had them in... the system at one point showed zero qty. Which was not true and didn't allow orders to be placed from that point forward. Obviously, if yours shipped before noon, you got it in before the qty depleated.

Yep, on wednesday of last week I had to take mine to local store because it would not activate, they ended up overnighting a D1 to me, I was told they could not replace my D1 with a D2 or X (D2 at the time per rep was 1 day order and X was 1 week order)

The refurb I received is very crappy, poor call quality on other end (even after the change to evo-b I believe it was), the haptic feedback is very minimal (can barely feel it) and when you slide it, it will slide a sec then pause then finish sliding and is very loose...Thinking about taking it back again but not sure yet
 
Well I called again yesterday droid still hasn't shipped said they were waiting on approval. It would ship this morning still no tracking code nothing ill give them until tonight but if it doesn't ship no way its going to meet the updated date of Thursday by 3pm which was already pushed back by a day
 
Still waiting on my droid that was supposed to be overnighted... my mom had issues with her bold, both were called in saturday and told they would ship monday overnight and be here tuesday, she recieved her bold yesterday morning
