Yup another "amazed at the battery life" thread

Man some of you guys are getting awesome battery life, I'm not getting anything like you guys. You make me think my phone is broken :P

Last night, I plugged in at about 17 hours with 20% left.
-4G all day
-2-3 hours screen time
-1 hour of Pandora
-30 minutes of phone calls
-1 Gmail account
-1 Exchange on push
-GPS on, No Facebook

It's so much better than my Droid 1, but no where near you guys 24 hour runs at 60% :)

So you can go to work or school all day and the play another 8 hours and still have 20% left? Yeah I can see where that could cramp your still:D;)

Sent my new Droid Razr Maxx

I always want more!!:D What if I go to work, play in the gym, then go out drinking. Then a bear starts chasing through the city streets for 8 hours, I need those 8 hours of 4G awesome for Google Maps while this is all going down.

Does this seem like a normal batter?

I just got my MAXX yesterday, and did a full charge last night. Let me know if this is normal:

12hours 40minutes on battery - currently at 40%
-Display (40%) 3h 13m (~80% brightness)
-Voice (14%) 23m
-Wifi 11% 12h 34m (nearly full time)
-OS 10%
-Plants vs Zombies 4% 12m
-Cell standby 4%
-Phone idle 4%
-Browser 3% 8m 17s
-speedtest 2% 2m 9s

I just barely disabled GPS - so it's been on pretty much all day - but if it's that big of a battery drain, why didn't it even show up on the list?

It was on 50% not that long ago, but I let my daughter play PvZ for about 10minutes, sound on.

Let me know what you guys think!?

Ok thats about where i'm at. 13hours on, 71% left. Minimal use mostly.

I guess if you're coming from an iPhone the 3300mah batter is a little under impressive, if you're coming from another 4g phone, it's better.

iPhones can drop only 1 or 2 percentage points in 4 hours. 4g phones tend to drop 1 point every hour. (this is standby alone, no use)

I did a quick study... on iPhone of contiual use, angry birds to music....etc... it took 3 minutes to drop one full percentage point.
It took only 2 minutes to drop one point on the Maxx.

This isn't a very thorough experiment but might hint that the bigger faster processors and bigger screen are obviously going to drain more. A simple iPhone will probably last longer than most of the smart phones now.. We'll let the Maxx cycle a few times before seeing if the 3300mah is even better than the iPhone 4. I know I'm curious about it.

Another thing to keep in mind is the kernel. My OG lasted about 8 hours on a charge when I brought it home. By the time I upgraded to X, it was lasting over 24 hours on a charge. Similar story on X. Thunderbolt would die in 4-6 hours when I first bought it. Now it averages 18 hours. Moto will likely give us a leaner, more efficient kernel for the ICS update. And yes, the larger display will eat more battery.
