z4Root - One Step Rooting for Many Android Devices!!

@hook ok thanks. Now the next question can this program unroot my phone as well? If not what is the best way to unroot if needed. I like to be prepared. :)
Thanks.

Happy Veterains Day.

It does have a button to remove the root and bring you back to stock, however if you remove any of the bulkware it will not update. You will have to somehow get .apk files to replace them in order to update. That's our theory at this time. Until someone actually removes the root, we can't say with 100% certainty.

Was just at Verizon this will root the Droid Pro.

I have a question about this app. I rooted my D2 about month and 1/2 ago before the OTA update. When I installed the OTA I had to reroot. I have to admit I was a little nervous about it as I figured I could screw up my phone. Anyhow things worked out and I am not having any problems. I have Titanium Backup so I froze my apps rather than deleting them.

Anyhow my question is this. If/when future updates come out, is it better to re-root should the update un-root my phone, or would it be best to un-root install the update and then re-root.

If I download the Z4root from the market can I just switch back and forth from unrooted to rooted anytime I want. I am not going to worry about themes and roms as I get a new phone every couple of years anyhow and it is not worth the stress of potentially messing up my phone. Basically don't want to miss out on any updates.

Thanks,

Heck yah I rooted the floor model. Also tried it on the Droid 2.
Then unrooted and wiped app data for the app and un installed it. Then wiped cache and data for the market as well.

I went to Verizon after i heard about easy root but by then it was removed from the market. So i finally got to try it out. :)

These one click root apps are great but they are also dangerous. I think if one of these were available when I rooted my phone and I had used it, I would have undoubtedly ruined my phone. It takes the knowledge factor out and leaves too much room for error, IMHO of course.

This is very true. I am looking for a way to root my Droid X at the moment and right now this seems easy but I would rather do it the hard way. You learn more that way.

Not dangerous. True to the extent that I couldn't see anything happening, I have no idea how it works. Where with DMupdater you could see what it was doing, leaving you with a clue. Dangerous? No not really.

I've never had an issue with rooting my phone but to be perfectly honest I've only gone as far as using RSDLite to install SPRecovery. Everything else was sort of done for me. And I've rooted 4 times now. No issues really.

I don't know if you're aware of it or not but we actually did have a member a while back who was going into Verizon Stores and rooting phones. He received hero status. 15 minutes of fame, really. I can't remember who that was.
