Sorry i'm not sure. I personally haven't gotten there yet with my X. Later today maybe. Someone will come along with the answer. If you.do a search for bloatware removal you.should find something on it.

I am not sure but you certainly don't have to ask 3 times in a 10 minute period.

Ok so I went on youtube and found out how to clean bloatwear type in how to clean bloatware for the droid x hit the first site that comes up follow it and that's how you do just cleaned mine thanks youtube lol

I have rooted my D1 so I'm familiar with the ins and outs of root.
Let me get this straight.
I just got my wife a D2
I can use this to root her phone, add custom roms, etc.
Then as long as I do not delete the blotware I can return it to stock if it ever acts up.

You will need Bootstrap and Rom manager to add custom roms to the Droid 2.

Just a few questions....1) what do I need to download first and why?
2) can I back my current version of 2.2 on the phone, 3) This app downgrades your phone to 2.1 to root?s so will it have flash after you root? What about the 280 rotation?

well I did it

downloaded screen shot and drocap, still figuring them out. Almost got it.

Then Barnacle wifi. But I can't figure it out. My computer isn't finding it.

I downloaded z4root on my Droid 2 and it works PERFECT. I only rooted to use wifi tether and works excellent. I am pulling 1.7 mgb download...outstanding!!

I don't know if this has been posted before, but I came across this app that wiil root your phone with one click. Works like a charm!..I rooted my droid2 before tthe hard way with cli commands in linux and rooted my brrothers ddroid2 with Z4 root found in appmarket
