1.1.1 Sapphire Release and an Anoucement

guys sorry to say but I can't get my google quick search to work. Terminal emulator says that " -s: not found"? maybe I am typing the spacing wrong or something?

Other than that Sapphire 1.1.1 is awesome, I was on 1.0 earlier today and switched to UD8 but it was terrible, switched to sapphire 1.1.1 and it is even better than 1.0.

If someone could just give me a little more help with the google search I would appreciate it. Terminal emulator does have SU permissions. It seems like this has been covered to death but I still can't get it.

Also can't wait for the rotary lock screen.

ln -s

No space between the dash and s.

Thanks for the quick reply.

I did not have a space between the -s

I am pretty sure I typed it exactly as posted, the only spaces were after the -s and after the googlequicksearchbox-1apk.

ok, I tried it several times a couple of ways:

ln -s /data/app/com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox-1.apk /system/app/GoogleQuickSearchBox.apk

That way results in "in: not found"

-s /data/app/com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox-1.apk /system/app/GoogleQuickSearchBox.apk

This way results in "-s: not found"

Um, to all you who are calling 1.1.1 "buggy" you really don't know what you're talking about. It has the same "issues" that 1.1.0 had. So, if you're happy with 1.1.0, there's really nothing different in 1.1.1. I really get frustrated as a software engineer when people call things "buggy" without anything to back up that claim.

You tool, obviously if multiple people are having problems there might be an issue. They aren't talking **** about it, just giving feedback. I have installed 1.1.1 and had the dialer issue where I just get a FC and have to nandroid. I also had the google search issue. Get off your high "engineer" horse and stop preaching.

well, it looks like everything worked out with the command. It moved the file to the system/app/ folder however the button still does not call up the search app :(

And then there are those of us who never seem to have a problem. It goes both ways.

Yup and I get that. My point was him saying there are no bugs and we are all cry babies. I don't call you a liar for saying yours works haha

ok, i am making progress, now i get "link failed read-only file system"

I defiantly have super user permissions, what gives now?

Don't feel bad. I can't get it to work neither......LOL
I tried to do it for kicks. I use a widget on my home screen and it works fine. I never really used the quick search button at the bottom anyway.
No biggie, just thought I would try it.

I didn't use it that much either but I've been working on it for several hours tonight and I guess it's become more of an annoyance, I want it to work so I know I didn't fail. oh well
