[11/25/10][Release] D1-MIUI 0.11.19-v1.3

Adjusting the vm heapsize by it's lonesome helped a LOT for me...I have a charging dock at home and can check it easily.
That alone cut the redraw by a ton...still a little there, but way better.

Well...maybe not...it's doing it again...

You added to build.prop? Did you try changing it in init.rc like I said? Its default setting is a 4. Also did you adjust the vm heap?

I changed it in init.rc and it seems to be working perfectly now...THANKS!!
No problem pal! I wish all the devs would incorporate this into their ROMs rather than everyone just piggy-backing adjustments into them....I have to say though, this ROM is F-ing sweeeet.

I downloaded a vm heaptool...free and easy...but it sounds like these guys know how to edit to get to it.

I'd like to know how as well...especially this adjusting HOME_APP to "1".

whiskeycoke Can someone explain how this is done?[/QUOTE said:
Using root explorer, mount as R/W and open "init.rc" in text editor. Scroll down to where it shows the app service numbers. "ro.HOME_APP_ADJ 4 " and change it to a "1". Then do the same in your build.prop and look for "vm heap=32m" and change it to what you'd like. Make sure the files save by hitting the back button and confirming the save, and the original is re-written as a .bak file. Reboot, and check where you're at.

Thanks! Hopefully this reduces my redraws.
Now I just need to figure out why my lockscreen music controls are so laggy.

I have a question on this new update..... Isn't it supposed to automatically come to my phone via OTA or if I manually run a system update? Also the extreme home screen redraws only happen with the default launcher(Launcher) with me. I also use ADW and I get no screen redraws so if I change my heap size will this be a negative affect for ADW?

Thanks x02. That seems to have helped a lot. I was going to live with the redraws as part of MIUI but it was getting annoying. Now its even better!

What he said about redraws except Launcher Pro.
