[11/25/10][Release] D1-MIUI 0.11.19-v1.3

I have a question on this new update..... Isn't it supposed to automatically come to my phone via OTA or if I manually run a system update? Also the extreme home screen redraws only happen with the default launcher(Launcher) with me. I also use ADW and I get no screen redraws so if I change my heap size will this be a negative affect for ADW?

If you aren't having issues, why change it? The default launcher uses a different mem management. It puts all apps on the face of the launcher rather then in a draw. Most people are still keeping them out of a folder, rather than making a drawer by placing a folder in the app dock. Less screens with apps on them, means less memory usage, therefore less likely to re-draw. If you aren't having a problem and prefer ADW, I wouldn't put on a bandaid, without cutting yourself first ya know?

Ok anyone got a fix this is annoying. My timestamps on the messaging app are all off by about 5 hours. So I get a msg at midnight and it says 7pm. Also my phone is overheating quite a bit.

I can honestly say that my phone just may be perfect now.

Got it the way I want....now I'm bored...lol

May have to wipe everything and start over. I'm addicted to tweaking.

whiskeycoke Can someone explain how this is done?[/quote said:
Using root explorer, mount as R/W and open "init.rc" in text editor. Scroll down to where it shows the app service numbers. "ro.HOME_APP_ADJ 4 " and change it to a "1". Then do the same in your build.prop and look for "vm heap=32m" and change it to what you'd like. Make sure the files save by hitting the back button and confirming the save, and the original is re-written as a .bak file. Reboot, and check where you're at.

Using stock kernel that came in the ROM?

I get this time problem on all of my Nandroid backups. They all show up earlier than reality. Could it be universal time? I am using the kernel that came with the ROM.

This rom is so much better performing with 24 vm..wifi scan 90...and home app =1. Is there a reason why out doesn't come that way?

No problems with my times. I'm assuming you wiped? Do you have another mms app that could tell confirm the problem with either rom or app?

Because all phones operate within different limitations. I couldn't imagine running that small of a vm heap. What works for some doesn't work for others.

No offense, but do you know what vm heap size is/does?

There's aren't many apps that have a memory footprint over 24MB-32MB on Android.

Yes, which is why I said to "change it to what you'd like". 40-42m shows the most well balanced linpack-quadrant scores for me, as well as overall OS use. That's why I chose that. Some people go as low as 12m but have system crashes all over, even though they show the highest scores. Like I said, it should be adjusted to what your phone acts best with.

Those are the exact values I use as well. I've also had great results using AutoKiller to bump up the internal memory management a tad (this can also be done by editing init.rc values - that's too complicated for me though).
