2.1 Release Notes Pulled by Motorola

Is it that bad to have to wait another week, two, or three knowing that the build has been fully tested and approved by the VZW QA team? I don't think so, let them do their jobs. As many of us former Storm users will attest to is nothing worse than having a poor OS on your nice smart phone. Actually it's very embarrassing when you try to show it off and it fails like a giant turd sandwich.
I'm content with 2.0.1, it's snappy and all my apps work and I can get a full days usage from the battery.

....where ever the mistake was made, it was a simple mistake....it didn't crash the stock market, nor did it cause anyone to lose their life savings, kill anyone, or worse, caused people to go to a shrink....it was a simple mistake....like the ones we all make everyday....suggesting he be FIRED is immature and plain inhuman....give the guy a break already and stop this nonsense....it didn't hurt anyone....stop it and act like you belong to the human race....unbelievable....

I'm totally confused why Tigger posted this as "2.1 Delayed" causing all kinds of panic attacks when there has not been a single word or note that it is delayed. I agree it might well be but why is an official poster on this site sensationalizing it, then warning people to stay calm.

Seems a little disingenuous to me.

The OP is a complete moron for posting this. NO WHERE does it say that the 2.1 update is delayed. It only says that the release notes were early and pulled. THATS IT. This post should be removed just as all those BS blog posts should be.

It'll get here when it gets here. Watching things mature is a part of life, enjoy it. Those of you who are parents will understand this.

Doesn't matter... blocked the OTA update anyways... after it finally comes out I will decide if I want to get it or not. If it comes up short as noted in previous posts then I wont get it and stick with my glass theme... If it gets all that 2.1 should have then I will allow the OTA...

It will come when it comes. 2.0.1 is not as bad as people are making it. I do want 2.1 to drop but I want it to be rooted before I use it.

Right the Pete's BB 0.8.7 is a great rom for me. I have no complaints about it.

Now for the pull in the release notes, why would they pull the release notes info unless they found bugs or fixed more bugs and they need to amend the release notes....

Also for the @Matt guy that posted this on the moto forums, hope whoever gave him the info and the ok to post that info sticks up for him if that was the case. Nothing like getting ripped a new e-hole on the interwebs for bad or incorrect info that people are biting at the bit for.

What the hell does that mean?

It means that he posted the release notes for 2.1. I.E. It will have night mode for maps, and battery improvements... like an official list. Then he pulled the list and put up a post saying that the information was released prematurely. The large (in readers, not actual size) bloggers then took that to mean that 2.1 would be delayed, because they included the facebook announcement in the things that were premature... But matt wasn't talking about the FB announcement, just his detailed notes.

He is evidently only saying that they should not have posted the "release notes"...those were what was pulled....

Nothing in his post or any other statement from Motorola says that the 2.1 release has been delayed. Unfortunately some of the blogs jumped on this early and stated that the release wasn't coming, then all the other blogs, sites, and forums followed suit, including this one....

Well I don't want to call one of the Mods a moron but I will agree that this did NOT need to be posted.... Let alone in the News section... I saw that post on Motorola's site yesterday and took it for what it was, a post about the NOTES not the release...

If you look further on their site you will see that they have been planning to push the release to a limited group starting this weekend (20K) for testing and will make their final plan(s) from there.

Can we please have an admin or someone set an official policy of NO MORE BS NEWS OR POSTS about 2.1 until someone can release an official screen-shot of their phone running the update or an OFFICIAL announcement from Moto and/or VZW concerning the release... all this speculation and crap is getting ridiculous...:icon_ devil:
