no ur definitely rite there was only one delay moto said 2nd quarter and then they said summer that was it. the reason I said delays was because it felt that way with all the leaked rumor dates. but like I just said they were only rumors so I do stand corrected. but u cannot tell me that $299 is fair to all those moto customers who didn't jump ship to the thunderbolt or the charge and stayed strong and waited for their phone. I feel like we should get somethin maybe a 32gb micro SD or 3 months free Netflix. or $99 on release date only. somethin!

I plan on checking out the Bionic day 1, and if its everything I expect then I don't have a problem with the $299(which will hopefully be a little less with my last NE2) I can understand why others wouldn't want to pay that much for a phone though, especially when it looks like there will be better ones coming out in a few months, but there will always be better ones coming out in a few months. And they are including a 16GB micro SD, so that is a little something nice.

What are the odds the price will drop by October? That is when i can use my last ne2 ($100). I have been more than happy with my og droid (unrooted). I messed around with a Thunderbolt and found it to be impressively fast.

Coming from an unrooted D1, the Bionic is going to seem super fast! You gonna explore root sometime? It's pretty fun stuff to learn.

No, I'm not kidding. I don't have a problem with someone complaining about the length of the delay, because it has been a long delay. The issue is when they say or imply that there have been multiple delays. There hasn't, there has only been one delay. I also don't have a problem with people's opinions. I do have issues when people state those opinions as if they are fact. It's his opinion that $299 is too much for a phone. He is entitled to that opinion. Its my opinion that if he doesn't want to spend that much, he shouldn't get the phone. It wasn't a smartass remark, it was my opinion.
And yes, I realize that the Bionic will be behind phones that are released after it. But those phones will be behind phones released after them. and so on and so on until the end of time.
If someone posts misinformation, I will correct them if I know the correct information. If we are talking about opinions, I will state mine. I'm not taking anything personal, but it kind of sounds like you are.

All I'm saying is you're missing the whole point here, manufacturer's and carrier's need to follow through on release dates when they make it public. This isn't the first time VZW and Android manufacturer's will miss the mark on a good device. Yea, we all get that new better phones will keep coming out but the fact that this phone has been waiting in the wings after all the hype it's kind of anti-climatic. If it came out 4 months ago like it was supposed to it would have been a benchmark for the other phones following it to match. And for all you guys willing to give away your hard earned $$$$ to multi-billion dollar companies that seems crazy. $300. on a contract or 500.+ to purchase outright isn't that big a difference. I might start doing that and screw the contract, then I can do what I want and not be tied to a 2 year contract with anyone. The reason the prices keep going up is because of consumers like you. At some point I have to make a stand and say "NO" I won't pay that amount. Watch how fast the price goes down if a majority does that and the product isn't moving off the shelf. The reason prices are crazy is because we keep paying it out... BS. It's all speculation anyway, it might not be $299. after all. With all that said I'm "done done" with this thread and the bickering. Enjoy your phone. Hope it's all you want when it comes....

+1 yeah definitely, my rooted d1 keeps me happy enough I'm not too worried about upgrading anytime soon...although I can't get my ne2 for awhile anyway lol...but even if I did have it now I'd still pass on the bionic mainly because it will soon be blown away by some newer phones coming by the end of this year/beginning next year and it will almost certainly have a bootloader locked tighter than fort Knox, and I love being rooted

My OG Droid is slowly but surely dying...my NE2 was up last weekend, but none of the current phones is knocking my socks off, so I'm gonna wait. If the OG can hold out 'til the Bionic comes down in price, I'll wait.

Verizon doesn't make any money from the selling of handsets. In fact they lose money. Their profit comes 6 months down the road from all of the plans and features.

I've been waiting on the Bionic with the rest of you, but at this point in the year, there's no way I'd drop $300 on that hardware. My D1 is still rockin' and while I have trust/respect for Moto, they've just waited too long on this one - kinda sad actually to say that.

If VZW drops the price low enough, fast enough, I might go for it. But it's no longer a no-brainer, 1st day purchase for me.

If it came out 4 months ago it would have been on the Etna hardware. I don't think the Etna hardware would have been the benchmark for all others to match, especially it's battery life. If it had happened, right now, those owners would be seeing pictures and rumors of the Targa and wondering why they spent $299 on the Etna when the Targa was just a few months away with better specs and a longer battery life.

I have an upgrade with a $50 discount too, I am really gonna have to go play with one first.. I don't wanna start the screen thing here again, but if its like the DX2 and D3, and all indications point to that then honestly other than being super bright I am not a fan of the screen.. I have used the DX2 and D3 and while they are snappy so was my HTC incredible and it wasn't dual core.. but I do want a 4G phone so we will see. I hope it impresses me!
