6-14 [ROM] Froyo Kangerade V1.0 *Blazing fast, 7 Theme options, many extras*

Anyone know of a way to upgrade the ADW Launcher that comes with the rom to the latest version? I know you can download it in the market but I don't want both versions on my phone.

install adw from market frist

then...

su
rmadwlauncher

@Jrummy just a quick FYI there was a Maps update again today to take it to version 4.3 but if fails to install on your builds.

Same here: today's update of Maps won't install. :(

thanks for the heads up.. I will incude the update in my update.

you probably just need to delete the maps in system/app and then install from the market (didn't test this though so your warned):

su
mountsys
rm /system/app/Maps.apk (edit: or instead of deleting it rename it)
mv /system/app/Maps.apk /system/apps/Maps.bak
unmountsys
sync

I think I will heed your warning and wait for your update. No biggie. Maps still works well; the world hasn't changed that much for an update! :)

Ok, got it working. If you want the google maps update do this in terminal

su
mountsys
rm system/app/Maps.apk
cd system/bin
sh pm uninstall com.google.android.apps.maps
unmountsys

Then download the undated maps from the market and your good to go.

I get a failure on the "sh pm uninstall com.google.android.apps.maps" step.

I did manually delete the apk file before I saw this post though, so I skipped the top part. Any ideas?

Thank you, JRummy! I had worked myself into a hole trying to follow other advice... so I had to readd Maps back from your ROM that I had put onto my sdcard. I was getting "Failure" from the pm command... so I did:

su
mountsys
mv /mnt/sdcard/Maps.apk /system/app
unmountsys

Then I rebooted to get Maps back in my application list. THEN, I followed your instructions and got "Success" on the pm command. I then successfully updated Maps from the Market.

One interesting thing, though, was that on the pm command, after it said "Failure" or "Success," it never gave me the prompt back. I gave it a good 20-30 seconds or so... It seems a "gold, center-of-dpad button"-push then c sends a ctrl+c in Terminal Emulator interrupts the pm tool, and all was well anyway.

Thanks for the clear directions that probably will work for others the first time!

maps update worked for me thanks.
on your front page under custom launchers it says launcher PRO *need to update*. what does that mean? i want to try that launcher out...

Hey Jrummy,

Love your build!! First truly stable Froyo ROM I've found.

Any way the new update can include apps2sd w/out having to go into Term Emu?

Thanks.

(also, the ability to change the text color in a themed notification panel so it's easier to read?)

Thanks again.

Hey Jrummy...can you make the default kernal the max (1.25?) for your rom and whoever wants can lower the clock. Its just a suggestion. :)

I just rooted my phone for the first time yesterday, tried out a few roms and decided to go with this one. I like it alot, but today, while I was on the phone with my sister, my phone got real hot and then rebooted itself. After it rebooted I am missing most of my apps from the app drawer and all my widgets. I can only access my apps through the market. Can someone please help me with this???

Thanks!!!
Vanessa

This also worked for me. Thanks for the information!

Do you have those apps with the widgets installed on your SD card? If so, move them back to the phone. Apps2SD is enabled, but apps with widgets are not working properly. As for any other apps that aren't showing up, if they're on the SD card as well, restart your launcher and they should show up.

LOVE this ROM but can't get any apps to my SD card (went into settings). I was able to get some apps to my SD card using the BB ROM but it wasn't as stable or fast as Kangerade. Anyone have any tips on how to get my apps to SD?
