[ROM] [6/18/12] CM9 ICS For the Droid Pro

Where is the link to download?
Ok...am I an idiot? I have read the entire thread and I dont see a link to the newest build. Can someone either point me to it or send me a link to the newest build?
Thanks!!!

Thanks JackpotClavin!:icon_ banana:
Gotta say so far everything is working pretty alright and the install was quite easy. A few force closes (especially when it is hooked up to my computer for some strange reason) but nothing major.
I cant wait for another update or two. this is really close to being fully functional and complete.

I installed Camera3-21.zip

I am not going to list everything that works for me because for the most part everything works but I did want to have a bug list...
Not Working
  1. Camcorder (as already mentioned)
  2. Sound settings (force closes) (so I cant change the ringtone)
I havent tested MMS (sending or receiving) nor have I tested GSM. I have noticed that when I change the network settings from CDMA/LTE to anything with GSM it force closes and the phone stops working until I set it back to CDMA/LTE.
I would really like to be able to make sure GSM (voice and data) is working (I travel overseas a few times a year) but I really am not sure how to test it here in the US.

BTW I wanted to post how to install this in case anyone else had questions...
  1. Root the Phone (look in the forums)
  2. --Easiest way to Root is by Using RSDLite and the SBF files to go back to a previous version of android (check the forums)
  3. --Use one of the many methods for the older android versions (z4root, superoneclick, etc.)
  4. --Install OTA root keeper (from the market) and run it just in case to make sure you will keep root if you update your phone
  5. Install Droid2Bootstrapper (look in the market)
  6. Download the Camera3-21.zip file and put it on the SD card of the phone
  7. Reboot into Clockwork using Droid 2 Bootstrap
  8. make a nandroid backup (just in case!)
  9. Clear cache/ wipe phone
  10. Install the update from the SD card
  11. Reboot and enjoy ICS
  12. Thank JackpotClavin

If there is anyway I can help move this project along please let me know!
A few questions... How far is this from cm9? I noticed it is android 4.0.3 and not 0.4. Also what is the likely hood that this will get merged into the regular cm9 nightly builds? Or for that matter the d2g builds? How different is the pro from the d2g?

Hey guys, it's been a while but I haven't forgotten about you <3

I just made a new build today just to sort some stuff out as I haven't done that in like a month (maybe more?). I'm currently taking a few files from the D2G to get a working camera and whatnot but their most recent build is from 4-24 so whenever they cook up a new build, I'll grab some stuff from their build and throw it into ours. I've also added the Voice search button so it's just like stock so you won't have to pull over and dial a number if you're driving because I'm sure you all don't use your phone while driving... ;)

Gotta sort some stuff out so it will probably be a few days

Awesome. Looking forward to it! Thanks for the hard work.

On a side note, I bought a droid 3 to mess around with, used it for just short of a week to really give it a chance. I can't stand that thing. Its too big, too thick, the keyboard sucks compared to ours, and the battery life was horrendous.

Now I'm back to my lovely thin, small, droid pro. Yay for droid pro!

If only they would make a successor to the Pro. :( It's been a while with this phone now, and I'm kind of wanting something new, but it seems like everybody is just making slate phones these days.

So I've finally gotten this installed on my DroidPro. I started with the 4.7.3 stock OTA, wiped system, cleared cache and dalvik, installed this 3-21Camera.zip, and the gapps from goo.im. The camera didn't work at first, but i used titaniumbackup to clear the settings from Camera and then it seemed to work for awhile. It occasionally force closes still. After selectively restoring my apps from titanium backup, i cleared cache and dalvik again, and upon boot it scanned and optimized my apps for ICS performance.

Many applications seem to be very laggy, and will eventually ask me to wait or close. If i select wait they will load, but general performance seems pretty slow for me. Specifically, Facebook, Good for Enterprise (corp email account), and initial load of trebuchet are very slow, and will often sit at a white screen for quite awhile. My sound periodically goes into silent mode for reasons i cannot determine. I sometimes have to wait for the system to respond to key presses while in the apps/widgets list, and wait 10-15 seconds before i can turn the screen off, often i will end up inadvertently turning the screen back on as i press it a second time thinking it missed my first press. I have also had a few complete freezes while in various programs causing me to have to do a battery pull to reboot the phone.

Any tips for what i might try to make things a little snappier?

x2. I came here to type the EXACT same issues. I don't mean to complain or anything of the sort. I appreciate the work that has gone into this and have been enjoying my phone now for several days due to the upgrade.... but I feel these issues should at least be known in case someone wants to tackle them. Thank you.

Though I've read through the thread multiple times, I don't recall seeing which version of GB I should be coming from. People were just saying things like "froyo to gb to cm9" or "sbf to cm9" or "sbf to OTA update to cm9". It was unclear to me which version I should be coming from, so I went with the latest as it had a newer kernel that was supposed to have better battery life.

If this isn't the case, what is the best way for me to go to the previous kernel, which i think was 2.3.3 vs 2.3.4?
Technically, I was still on 4.6.8 but used clockwork to flash just the kernel from 4.7.3.

Unless the 4.7.3 update changed the kernel, (which I don't think it did) there should be no problem flashing over from it. Having the GB kernel is the important part.

I had pretty much all the issues that you describe as well; I think they are just the bugs in the 3-21 build. A couple of us made the frankenbuild, which was the 3-4 build plus the libraries and Camera.apk from 3-21 to give us a working camera, and the relative stability of the 3-4 build.

I think some kind soul made a frankenbuild zip file that you can just flash if you like.
