[ROM] [6/6/2012] CM7 for the Droid Pro based on GB

Okay, I have a question. Since this CM7 Port requires the newest kernel, is there any way to get to 4.6.8 without losing the US GSM Band Unlock? (TBH Unlocker)

Hmm so I backed up a bunch of data using Titanium. I restored them after installing CM7 but the data hasn't actually restored. E.g. I backed up my SMS messages and they are not appearing. Is there any way to pull that stuff out of the backup that I did just before flashing?

Actually, nevermind, SMS messages is the only thing that hasn't restored. How do I get those out of the backup that the bootloader did?

Also, I flashed Gapps immediately after CM7 like you said, however after I booted and went into Android Market, only one of my apps was showing up in "My Apps"... I had 55ish apps installed...

I *think* there are ways to upgrade the kernel and the boot partition without updating the radio firmware, you just have to repack the update packages and not touch the radio. Droid 2 Global people had that for quite some time ([D2G] Gingerbread Hack For Us Band Unlockers - RootzWiki). I can't bother to tinker with Motorola's update mechanism: Getting over the limitation is quite a challenging quest and thus might be fun for nerds, but at the same time the learning component (what you actually learn from that process) is not so much/useful/universal and you'll have to SBF every time you screw up, which is a painful process.

It's not CM7 that breaks the band unlock. It's the OEM update to Gingerbread. It won't break the SIM lock, either. You're still free to use the phone on GSM networks outside of the U.S. The band unlock lets us use the Pro on domestic GSM networks, like AT&T and T-Mobile. That unlock is what the Gingerbread kernel breaks.

Ah ok that doesn't concern me then :)

I am LOVING CM7. It's just so fast and smooth and looks fantastic. I've got most of my apps back, I just still need some way to extract my texts from that backup and would really appreciate any tips on how to do that.

Also I am being a bit lazy with this but how can I assign the dedicated camera button to something? It's not doing anything right now and I think I just want it to open the camera again. Also, any way to use that button as a shutter button?

Okay, I got it to work with the old Radio on the newest CM7 Build by following what axl did with the D2G Kernel. (i posted this just now on xda, but i'll post it here as well):

Here are the steps:

From a 2.26 build that is rooted with the Bootrecovery and the Unlocked Radio (described in other posts on the net), unzip the clockworkmod onto your phone's sim so it's in the clockworkmod\backup directory. Next, reboot to clockworkmod and wipe data. Then, flash the Pro 468 Kernel file. Finally, without rebooting while still in clockworkmod, choose to restore the clockworkmod backup, then reboot.

One note, I've already added the APN for AT&T, so if you wipe afterwards you'll likely have to re-add it. JackpotClavin didn't include the AT&T APN in his build but would be great if it was in the future :)

Kernel: Multiupload.com - upload your files to multiple file hosting sites!
ClockworkMod Backup: Multiupload.com - upload your files to multiple file hosting sites!

Here are the steps:

From a 2.4.29 built that is rooted with the Bootrecovery and the Unlocked Radio (described in other posts on the net), unzip the clockworkmod onto your phone's sim so it's in the clockworkmod\backup directory. AWESOME!

I'm like 90% sure I'm going to go with AT&T now.
