Will this not effect AT&T's network also? Streamed iHeart all day on a friends phone.

I would think. Unless Verizon's is more vulnerable. I guess it depends on a lot of factors and equipment vulnerability. Anyone more knowledgeable care to chime in? I would be curious to learn the technical details in the differences between Verizon's and ATT's 4G networks.

Solar storm didn't take it out. Many more systems other than VZ LTE would be affected if it was strong enough to take out an entire network. Most modern tech is already shielded. Plus the UK wouldn't be the first to report it...

Out in Orlando, FL...again. Noticed I had no connection at all as I was leaving lunch with a friend...around 1PM ET. Has been spotty ever since going from 3G to 4G, but mostly no connection at all. Ironically, I was actually trying to download the app for this forum on my phone when it went down, again.

I'm not chicken little but a massive corneal ejection (CME) can cause this. Expect disruptions. Geo magnetic storms can cause alot of problems. VZW's network may simply be more susceptible than others. This is not a funny joke or anything. Could be far more serious than simply losing 4G. Look it all up your self. Do your own research. But a good start is at http://www.solarham.comThey report a big magnetic pulse hit the earth this morning. Decide for yourself.

I don't mind an occasional outage. In fact, I would expect it given the massive infrastructure needed to keep a system up. I would only ask that they inform us about the reason for the outage after it has been resolved.

Sounds vague. Details? We read earlier in this thread about that. But still no further how come info. What we all want to know is WHY? What's the bottom line?

According to NASA and NOAA we're in for some serious problems. This is only a little sample.

VZW may hopefully compensate and fix this for now. But expect recurrences. Go read NASA science "solar cycle 24". And draw your own conclusions.

Had 4G most of the day now I can barely hang on to 3G. This sucks.
