For those wondering if UD7 is an improvement over BB 0.4, it is. Although I am still patiently waiting for 0.5, UD is a fantastic alternative. If you are interested in a very thorough and almost bugless (teehee) ROM this is for you.

Still testing the ins and outs of UD 7 but as of now the battery life is a tad better than BB (same kernel of course).

First 2.2 Rom to give me really good battery life!

Try this one out. CMRC3 19hrs batt life. I'm using chevy's ulow 900 kernal. Proof attached.

how long was the screen on and was it on bright ?

My screen was on and of intermittently and i have it on auto bright. Also all of my cpu settings are set to conservative.

Conservative is why the long life. Can do that on any rom and ull get good life while sacrificing some performance.

I'm really enjoying Luna themed UD7 w/chevyno1 ulow1.1 kernel. You guys are amazing at what you do.

I am, however, wondering if there is a way to run the launcher from UD6 on UD7? I liked the way that one "felt" to me.

if you have 6.0 u can pull the launcher apk out of it and adb push to system/app. or if u have a backup of 6.0 load it up with the launcher you want and yank the launcher apk out of it to use in 7.0.

Battery life is just as important as performance. The tradeoff is worth it.

agreed, but i use ud with a standard voltage kernel at 1100mhz set for performance with all animations set to fast, tons of widgets and always using it and i have no problem getting my battery to last for the day.

battery life will always vary, same settings on sapphire 1.0.0 gave me the same ud battery life. just depends on your setcpu settings and what ur doing with it and how often.

I still have the download of 6.0 just in case I wanted to reinstall it later. I found the launcher app in it, opened it clicked install and got a message that said "did not install". Now I have no problem admitting that I know almost nothing about this stuff so i'm sure I'm doing something wrong.

Put the apk in the system folder on your sd card. If there isnt one, create it. Then go to settings - UD settings - quick commands - install to system

When you do this it will install anything you have put into that system folder on your sd card.

So I installed 7.0 and now im getting a message that tells me there is a system update. I know the problem but is there a way to stop it. I know there was the same issue with bugless beast and pete put out a patch is there anything like that for 7.0?

Original Droid, UD 7.0

Allow it to update and install will fail. Period.

make a copy of the ud 6.0 zip, delete everything in it but the meta folder, system and the app for in system having only the launcher apk in there and install that.

And conservative is actually very fast. Other governors use the higher clock speeds way to often, and conservative's slower ramping up of the speed helps with this.

Well I have to eat my words about Ultimate Droid... many may know about my dislike of the initial UD Froyo ROMs, but I'm absolutely blown away by UD v7.0's performance thus far. :icon_eek:

Looks like I'll be leaving my Sapphire and my beloved BB for this ROM.

My hats of to this ROM's dev...:gotmyvote:

And most know how hard that was for me to admit... that UD v7.0 is better than BB v0.4.... and not by just a little, I mean by a LOT!!

couldn't agree more ud runs super smooth even at 600/250 on demand and haven't broke 100 degrees yet.. id need to run at least 700 on performance w bb to get it smooth and it ran really hot (tried diff kernels, all the same)... I know newer is generally better but w the options and performance you can't even compare them
