Gmail or Superuser forcecloses

I am a BB convert just recently i thought i would give UD 7.0 a try until BB v.5 come out..The only problem that i have been haveing with the Rom is that it keeps force closeing Gmail..cant even access it! Any help would be Great!
If you restored Gmail app data with Titanium Backup, just go into titanium, select gmail under the backup/restore section and click on wipe data, had the same problem and this worked for me

What needs to be done to stop these FC's is go into managed applications, select the all tab. Scroll to gmail/Superuser and clear data.

Go into gmail and you'll begin to synce. As far as suoeruser goes, you'll just have to accepts them as they com, but no more looseing Superuser permission.

Hope this help

OTA update notification is back again. Again, this is after a nandroid backup. Coincidence? I think not!

Anyone know why a nandroid backup would cause the OTA update notification to return?
It makes perfect sense since the Nandroid backup is an image of your Droid at the time of the backup... some system checks that triggers that OTA has been imaged back with the nandroid.

If you want it to stop, then make a new backup, right after restoring that nandroid backup and allowing that OTA to fail... then you'll have a nandroid that's exactly the same 'except' the OTA is no longer going to find those system checks that'll trigger that OTA again...:)

WOW... the more I tweak this ROM the better it's running!! (and I tweaked & tweaked & tweaked until the just right config:icon_eek: lmao)... How's the below screenshot for low temps!?!, in a room that has about 80f ambient temp...

-I am now settled in with Chevy's LV 1GHz kernel,...
-I had good results with Chevy's 1GHz MV kernel, but after long seesions of high loads, the temps easily reached 50c, the voltage was just too high....
-Then I tried Chevy's 1GHz uLV kernel and it ran great, actually never getting as cool as the MV kernel at idle speed, but also never really going over 45c at fuul loads for extended times....
-Now on Chev's LV 1GHz kernel, the idle temp gets ridiculously low and rarely hits 45c even after very long periods of DolphinHD browser usages...

Just thought I'd post to show that if you just keep playing with your settings, you'll more than likely find a great running kernel for this ROM... I am officially saying now that UD v7.0 has dethroned BB v0.4 in my mind... on everything...;)

I totally agree with you. Went from bb 04 to Sapphire 1.0 to UD 7.0. I can't see changing from UD 7.0 at this point. My Droid has never run as smooth, fast, stable as it is now (chevy 1.1 lv).

Hi MBK according to your postWOW... the more I tweak this ROM the better it's running!! (and I tweaked & tweaked & tweaked until the just right config:icon_eek: lmao)...

My question is according to the link you posted which Kernel am I looking for that is the best? Also how do I install the kernel I have UD 7 with watermakr'd theme now. Should I back it up first using nandroid? Tx

How do you install a kernel? update.zip? should I backup using simple nandroid? Thansk
You put the file on the root of your sd card. Boot into recovery and if you are using SpRecovery you change it to update.zip, clockwork you can keep it as is and install it from the sd card. I would definitely do a nandroid backup before installing the new kernel.

Never used SetCPU before. Never felt the need. I've read conflicting thoughts on it. Some say it hurts, some say it helps.

My recommendation to you is to definetly first backup your current ROM, and then download all 3 of the 1GHz kernels (uLV, LV, MV...or higher clocks like 1.1GHz or more if you want to try) and have them stored on your SDCard under a folder named 'kernels' or to that effect... then simply boot into recovery and install from SDCard option navigating to that folder (or install from sdcard optiion in RomManager)... and try them out for a while to see whcih gives you the best results on your Droid.

The good thing about having several kernels on your SDCard already is that should one of the kernels be not enough voltage or too high voltage or too high of a clock speed, and it won't boot up... you can simply reboot into your recovery and simply install a different kernel from your SDCard , without having to restore one of your nandroids first ... I hope I'm making sense...lol

Anyone having the Sirius/XM skipping problem ? I am, otherwise love UD7.

So , nobody else has this problem ?

Yes, I was having it. There is supposed to be an update coming from Sirius XM. In the mean time, editing the build.pro file so that media.stagefright enable-player is set to false seems to have resoved the problem. Unfortunately, quadrant scores suffer a bit as a result.

Thanks, I'll try that.
