[ROM] [Alpha] Ics4Bionic 01-25-2012

And on my non safe side, do I also have sdcard in addition to sdcard-ext, or just sdcard-ext?

Are /mnt/sdcard-ext and /sdcard-ext mirrors of each other?

With ICS, I can see my DCIM (pictures) folder though /mnt/sdcard-ext, but the gallery doesn't see that location. There is nothing in my /sdcard-mnt folder.

On your non safe side, you have both. /sdcard is where your internal storage is mounted to, and /sdcard-ext is where your sdcard is mounted to.

As for things under /mnt those are the ways that Linux sets up access to to partitions, drives and folders. It would be erroneous to actually say they are mirrors, b/c they are actually the same thing, but don't use the locations under /mnt, use the direct locations of /sdcard and /sdcard-ext.

As for the gallery and such, your non safe side is probably set to save pictures to the internal storage, and they seem flip flopped in ics, so that is why this is occurring.

I'll get with dhacker and see if a simple init script can mount these two locations the same as our current bionic setup does to minimize confusion.

That's for the storage explanation!

My pictures are actually in /mnt/sdcard-ext for ICS, but not /sdcard-ext (it is empty in ICS)...

Also, the Droid Forms app keeps coming uninstalled. Any ideas?

What benchmark results are people getting with the latest ICS ROM version?

I get about 2200-2400 on quadrant and about 62 seconds on RQLite.

Thanks!

Just about the same. I ran two after reading this and got a 2100 and a 2400.

I think DH was speaking along the lines of not posting info about new releases and encouraging people to read the comments on github to see what has changed in future releases.

His exact comment on Twitter: "
There will be no more posted releases for ICS. If you wanna know what changed learn to read the commits on github. If you want a new version learn to compile. This is supposed to be fun not a job"

Just FYI guys, DF supports our developers in any directional decisions they may make - if you have negative comments on this subject word them respectfully or leave them on your side of the screen

DH is continuing to develop for the Bionic, but he isn't going to post updates unless he has a significant breakthrough. I think peeps were driving him nuts with questions about update ETA's and change logs.
