Andbody else take a their Droid back today?

You guys are missing the "in between lines" , the buzz words I saw were "overclocking did help", "Love 2.1" , "imagine overclocking that snapdragon" etc.

Rooted phone + running 2.1 optimized for a different phone (Nexus) + overclocking to try and make it faster because of the first 2 items (resulting in slow Droid with all sorts of glitches and lagginess) + who knows what other mods + already plans to overclock a Nexus if he gets one = someone who will never be 100% satisfied with any phone for more than 2 weeks.

The fact he kept it for 30+ days just shows how darn good the Droid actually is.

Saw the title of the thread and thought I missed something that might have caused a mass return frenzy today.

I took mine back today but not because I was unhappy with it was because the screen would not rotate. This sucks cause I have only had it 3days! Oh well maybe I just got a lemon!

It's a slider, it doesn't rotate. :)

smart move; if you are not satisfied with the droid and you know they are releasing some new android phones in the spring that may fit you best, then good to end the contract. Wait until spring to play with the different phones and decide what phone you want to pay for. Its your money get what you want.

This is why everyone should run an app killer with auto kill enabled i swear it makes the biggest diffrence even more so then the 600mhz oc did.

I ran with and without it and it is laggy with all those programs running and especially google voice. i allways kill it after a reboot.

My phone oced with appkiller and 2.1 home screen, flan gallery, youtube hq makes me a very happy camper and my last phone was a 3gs.

It happens. You realize you can only put it in landscape with the camera button up, right?

Well, Now that I think of it...I kind of did.

Daughters Env3 went on the fritz for the 3rd time in 6 days.....So we were in a Verizon store.....

There is a recipe for disaster if I've ever seen one.

Yeah I know that, I mean the view will not go to landscape! Even when you slide out the keyboard.lol

One of the setting options is turn off Orientation. Did you turned that off? I don't remember off the top of my head which sub-menu under setting it is.

Possibly "Sound and Display"

I miss my omnia sometimes for some of the more subtle features, and obviously the camera which is just amazing. I'm sure a lot of the chefs will have some fun winmo roms to play with while you make a choice about your next android phone. <3

Yeah I did that, Verizon tech said that this is a known problem. Verizonwireless just went ahead and replaced the phone.

I, also, don't understand these posts. You are returning your Droid because you want a phone that is coming in 3-4 months that is pretty much the same thing, slightly better, or slightly worse?

With 2.1 coming in a few days, I don't see the point.

Personally, I think you people are crazy. I've waited years for a decent smartphone for Verizon, and we got a MUCH better than "decent" one in the Droid. I love this phone. I don't see the point in returning it to get another Android device.

Just the keyboard and the kick ass speaker would make me want to keep it over the Nexus. You guys are nuts.
