Android 2.1 Update Rolls Out For Motorola Droid!

thanks for clearing that up..you wouldnt happen to have any idea WHEN the 2nd update will be coming out would you?

if we dont get the 3D drawer or the 5 screens or something worth getting excited over, im gonna have to dump the droid in the crapper when the HTC Incredible comes out..

Confirmed that I have Droid Version 2.1-Update 1 firmware. No 5 home screens, the app drawer looks the same. I have not seen any other changes quite yet. But then, just got it this morning, never rooted my droid and haven't explored what else other than a new apple called 'Goggles' I didn't have installed is now installed.

corman you are already FULLY converted over to 2.1. There is no second update.

I don't know where that info comes from but it is inaccurate.

So does that mean we are not getting an app drawer and 5 home screens ...

Droid and Google Earth Update...

from PR News Product Reviews...
Some slightly worrying news to bring to Motorola DROID owners on Verizon now, as it has been reported that the Google Earth application is no longer available once you upgrade to the 2.1 Android OS.
According to this report from MobileBurn, you’ll no longer be able to find the application in the Android marketplace once you update, so if you are a regular user of Google Earth, you may want to put off updating until we find out more details.
We will update this article once we hear more. It will be very disappointing if that is the case though. It could just be a temporary issue that Google and/or Verizon Wireless are already working on.
Let us know if you have spotted this after updating to 2.1.

okay thats good and dandy BUT..why did it say "update1" when i installed it? and there have been countless rumors/leaks/whatever you want to call them, claiming that there's 2 update packages. honestly i wouldnt really believe that since there are SOOO many rumors that never amount to anything however, after seeing "update1", why would they need to specify WHICH update it was if there werent more than 1 that were gonna be rolling out?
i didnt really give too much thought to the 3 or 4 update count but ive been hearing 2 for about a month and a half

rickdroid in your post - it says:
Updated Home Screen Navigation
Along with the added home screens comes a thumbnail-based navigation system that allows you to quickly jump to any screen. You can still swipe left or right normally to move through the various screens, but the thumbnail system gives you the option to also see small icons of all five screens and tap directly on any one to jump straight to it.

What does this mean - my updated Droid does not have this at all.

Sorry for the confusion but I was informed by my source, a friend and a correspondent with PCWorld/Apps_droid news, that there would be a closing update to complete the total 2.1 conversion update???

i found the thumbnail navigation but on accident and i have been doing it on accident ever since..i cant figure out how to do it either

Well that is just crazy I see nothing different at all about my home screen and I never saw anything about thumb nails I guess it might be like the Gallery which would be great but how does this happen? I don't know if this has been discussed anywhere - Cerealkiller or anyone guide me.

still no voice dial like the old days when all you had to say was "call so-n-so" and it would say back "call so-n-so?" and you would say yes and it would dial.
