Android 2.1 Update Rolls Out For Motorola Droid!

My battery seems to got a bit worse after the update...wtf...

My battery life is twice as strong as it was before. I can easily go a full day of using it a lot without the battery running down. :icon_ banana:

Got my update sometime Sunday AM. Woke up for work Sun afternoon and had the update thing on my phone. Haven't been on the forum in a long time, so I was pleasantly surprised! Doesn't seem like too much has changed to me. I do like the galley better, and the live wallpapers are FCKING awesome.

Haha, that's what I thought for the past 5 nights.

I just looked at my phone and its downloading the update. Well it says it is but it looks like its stuck on the gray bar!!! nothing happening and im not really sure how long it has been doing it. i just decided to check the status of the phone. and it was doing it. it never asked me to download it. its doing it on its on!!! i pulled the battery and its still on the gray bar!!! any suggestions???

if you weren't sure how long it was doing it why would you pull the battery? That's probably the worst thing you could have done while it was updating.

I keep reading all of these posts about how people are disappointed with the 2.1 update and I am actually very surprised.

I know everyone was expecting our Droids to cook dinner and clean the bathroom after the update but then again, I was expecting my husband to do that too after we got married and that didn't work out.

Personally, I am loving the live wallpapers and the new gallery. I think it was a great update. I am sure Motorola was feeling the crunch with this one so they rushed it out to the masses before it could be optimized. We will be waiting on the next update before you know it. It's all about being realistic folks. We already have the most awesome device on the market. It will take time to continue to improve upon the greatness we already have.

Is there a post on here that describes what the update does for us. If a person is not a member of a forum like this they would know nothing about it. So what does this do for me?

Keyboard backlight just went on after 2 reboots. Now loving the new Earth live wallpaper. Awesome.

Something very strange here for me.
When I got up this morning I went to the settings and checked about phone and check for updates, and it was there downloading already.

After awhile I checked again and it was stopped so I hit the download button again, and it continued to download again.

This was two hours ago now, and nothing is happening.
It is not installing itself like the last update did.
Maybe I am missing something here?
The download button is active again asking me to download it which I have done around three times this morning already.

I even rebooted the phone once, nothing, still 2.0.1.
