Android 2.1 Update Rolls Out For Motorola Droid!

I got the update this morning. Thrilled that I can access my yahoo acct finally, and the live wallpapers are neat, but I am bummed about no Flash still.

I got mine too last night here in Honolulu. (Hawaii must have been all at once ha ha).

Anyway, to quote that old song.. "Is that all there is?".. Honestly the only thing I really wanted was the 5 screens which we now know was not to be..

I ll have to find that press release listing the benefits of this update again.

I'll let you decide on which are actually benefits. lol

- Pinch Zoom in stock Browser and Galley
- Live Wallpapers
- Google Googles preinstalled
- Google News and Weather Widget

That's about all I can think of off the top of my head.

Well that is just crazy I see nothing different at all about my home screen and I never saw anything about thumb nails I guess it might be like the Gallery which would be great but how does this happen? I don't know if this has been discussed anywhere - Cerealkiller or anyone guide me.

ALRIGHTTT! i found the Thumbnail Navigation. if you double tap on an UNUSED space on any of the home screens, it comes up at the bottom like little white cards. obviously you dont have 5 because you dont have 5 screens yet...but it shows up with whatever screens you DO have

Can someone elaborate more on this. I've been double tapping, multi-tapping and everything else but to no avail can I see the thumbnail navigation stuff. HELP!!!!!!!

I agree!! Nothing double triple tapping and nothing comes up.

I have been trying that as well and not getting it either.

I should clarify, since I was doing a post from the mobile at the time, that I have not been able to get the thumbnail navigator to show up trying to multi-tap or more on an empty home screen space either.

I got the update. I asked my Droid to cook dinner. I even put the chicken in the pan and turned on the heat, wanting to be patient since I knew it was unfamiliar with my kitchen. When I smelled burning 20 minutes later, I came rushing back in the kitchen and found my dinner burnt to a crisp. The Droid just sat there doing nothing. That night I left my Droid in my bathroom and guess what? The next morning I came in and it was still just as dirty behind the toilet as the previous night.

This update is a joke.

Actually the joke is on you. It's a smartphone, remember. Which means it's smart enough to sit back and make you do all the work.

Just got the prompt to dl the update this morning, but because I have root on 2.0.1, it wouldn't lert me update (a good thing?). Updating would mess up my root and I would have to go through the process again, right? I was having a hard time installing busybox, I think it was just operator error though! How am I to install 2.1 since it's not letting me?

You guys have to be using Helix Launcher (in market) for the nice double tap with thumbnails of all the screens you have.

I run 7 screens and I have basic OTA 2.1 "boring" phone ((really wish I had root and Black Droids 9.0 and Over clocked and stuff, but me not good with that stuff....)) but it runs real smoothly! 7 screens is actually real awesome to have if you try it.

That is a decision you will have to make loose root and get the update or stay rooted and look for a custom ROM update... can't have your cake and eat it too it seems Eh?

looking In my applications I noticed.."android.input method.Latin" what is this and can I uninstall this without screwing up anything?

None of my movies or pictures show up in my gallery since my 2.1 update. Any idea why? They still show on my sd card.
