Android 2.1 Update Rolls Out For Motorola Droid!

A Verizon tech said it will be done in order of emails alphabetically
Not site if true or not, but that's what I was told in the store.
I hope not, I'll never get the OTA then, lol. Tho, I am curious about someone else's post that was not answered. Would using the update.zip have any impact on one's warranty? Being official, I wouldn't see why it would, but one never knows with these big corps...

They are using this update to see is leaking out the information about the updates and such. So, I would beware of installing the zip file. You will break your terms of service with verizon, and they are looking to take people to small claims court who are doing illegal things with their phones.

How many have unrooted so they can get the update? I'm still hesitant to unroot.

I used the SBF file to unroot, worst case is I cannot figure out how to root ESE81 when it shows up; and I will just SBF back to ESE53 and reroot it.

Ummm I thought it was "open source"

I'd like to see that one hold up in court.

Seriously guys? I think the next person that gets the update that is on this forum but doesn't at least try to get the update.zip should just keep it to themselves.

Cause if you don't at least try.....

Look who's back.....

It is worth telling people to go to the dialpad and type:

*#*#checkin#*#*

Apparently this will "ping" your phone on the verizon system and help ID you if you've been selected for the update?

Worth a shot, good luck.

Where did you pull that out of?

my phone said checkin success.

Mine said Success then popped up saying updates were available. Sadly they were Facebook and iSyncr. :(

In reality they should take a long walk off a tall building....

Your troll radar is in fail mode, may want to reboot.

Statistically speaking only 4 people from the members watching this thread will get the update tonight , and maybe only 2 will be awake at the time . I doubt any of these 2 know how to pull the update.zip .

Usually when people have to defend with bulleted points, usually there is an ounce that they agree or fear that the information provided may be true :)
