So that brings up a good question. I thought they had a "home" feature for when the battery gets low or it's out of range, it comes back to where it was launched?
The water isn't forgiving, in Alaska I gave my daughter my pole to use, she cast the line and let the pole follow the cast... Said she forgot to hold on... It was a nice Ugly Stik and Shimano casting setup... Probably caught by another angler later that season... That would be a nice catch...

The Phantom series does, so this wouldn't have happened with the more expensive drones. I'm more pissed that I lost the sd card out of the camera, instead of the drone.... I captured some awesome footage before it sank. I jumped in after it and dove down for at least 20 minutes looking for it. I even used my fishing pole with some heavy weights to try and dredge for it....no luck. Funny thing is, I had crashed it a couple of days earlier in some shallow water, but it was completely submerged. I let it dry out for 24 hours and it was good as new. I even had replacement motors in case I fried them, so that's why I tried so hard to retrieve it. Being that I've got a weak arm/shoulder due to a recent surgery, I wasn't able to swim down as deep as I normally would have, so I was bummed about that.
Regardless, for 160 bucks (not including 40 bucks in replacement motors, parts & props) it was a great little practice drone. I got a lot of amazing footage and practice flying with it, so I more than got my money's worth.
It sucks that I lost it, but it is what it is. This is exactly why I didn't purchase a Phantom right off the bat, even though the Phantoms are a lot easier to fly with all their safeguards.
I'll be back in the air soon.
I'm also going to look into purchasing some waterproofing spray to coat the circuitry on the phantom when I get it. ...just in case. [emoji38]
That's a trip! I've been subscribed to these guys for a few weeks now, but hadn't seen this video yet so thanks for sharing stang-man! What an awesome setup. [emoji106]
....it's time gentlemen!
ya think Mr Loomis will spot me 6 bills to get the Phantom 4 instead of the Phantom 3 Advanced?
Can't hurt to ask right?! LOL!
