By the way the camera is facing, it's fairly easy to tell. Especially in "mode 1" (low speed) as the quad doesn't tilt as much. Simply rotate the quad & camera to point in the direction your filming. You'll see in my next video.
Yeah, I was worried initially but it actually turned out to be a lot of fun. Not that I crashed it at the bottom twice of course, but yeah... LOL! The first time the battery died, the 2nd time my controller wasn't in the field of view with the drone and so it lost signal and the wind dropped it near the same location. It got wet both times, but wasn't submerged, so no harm was done. The water was the perfect temp and by the time I made it back to the top the first time, quite a few people had showed up both by boat/raft and by land, to enjoy the waterfall. Been going there for 10 years and I never knew you could get to the bottom by simply walking down the middle of the waterfall. Neither me or my SO had planned on going swimming, but I keep towels in the trunk, so we spent the better part of the afternoon enjoying the water.
