Anyone have an LG G watch?

First, congratulations, Johnny! A little late to this party, but it's most sincere!
Okay, what did y'all ever decided was the best text app for the LG? I am totally confused with what to use. I have been using Handcent for years on my phone, but that doesn't seem to work well with the watch. Disabled it and tried the Motorola factory issued text app and that doesn't show the message read-outs on the watch. I installed a wear texting app and it sent a stupid signature with a link to the play store on each text. I uninstalled it (don't even remember which one it was) and now need something that will work AND won't send these links and signatures. What did you all figure out to use that's actually functional?
Thanks for your patience with me. I'll get "there".

I use the Moto app with most people and Signal for a few friends that use it. Signal is an encrypted text app.
Both work great with the watch.

Thank you! I have that currently set up, but only get a notification on my watch, it doesn't show the message -- only an option to open on my phone. I did go back and figure out what I had briefly installed. It was the Wear Messenger. That app allowed me to read the entire message on my phone and even reply, but it has a horrible embedded signature with a link to Google Play (I've read the paid version drops the embedded signature). I'm hoping for something that will allow me to read and reply to a text from the phone. At the very least, at least read the entire text. I can reply later from my phone...

That's odd, I know that I could read texts on my watch with my Droid Maxx, and pretty sure I could reply also, using the stock Messaging app.

Once I uninstalled the other texting apps, the stock messenger worked better. I can read the full text, but I do not have the option to reply on the watch -- not that I really need to, heck, my eyes are struggling enough trying to read on the watch screen anyway.
In a perfect world, Handcent would play nicely with the watch.

That's why I like Google Messenger, personally. Not only can I read the messages on my watch, I can reply by voice-to-text. My favorite recent addition is the ability to call up an older conversation on the watch though. Previously, you could only view a conversation when you received a new message. It's nice to be able to pull up a conversation and look back without having to pull the phone out or wait for a reply.

When you swipe to the left (to view all options on the right screens) there is no Reply option? I thought there was with the Maxx's Messenger app. But I could be mistaken. I know the stock Mail app on the Maxx did not allow Delete / Reply on my watch; but the Turbo and Turbo 2 Mail app do allow those options.

I think I will give that a try today and see what I think. Also want to check out the Coffee app Pere suggested. I don't know anything about that one. Guess I'll go google it...
The text part of the watch to phone is rather important to me, so I am going to be picky. Again, I don'

No, it only gives me the option to open it on the phone. I'm in the middle of a Verizon update on my phone so can't send a screen shot so you'll hafta trust me on this one for the moment. I CAN read it, but there's not way to reply. Again, not a big deal, but.....

Here's a nice thread that @PereDroid started when he was first playing around with Coffee. Definitely seems like it's got some potential to be useful. Wear App quick review: Coffee

I trust you. I guess there were two apps on my Maxx that did not have a Reply option...Mail and Messages.

I think you can start a new Text on the watch though, with the stock Messaging app on the phone. Say OK Google into the watch...send text to Name...and start a new text that way.
