Anyone notice the screen doesn't get dirty? Or am I nuts?

I don't know but I'm using the anti-glare screen protectors from Verizon and it's probably the best screen protector I've used to date.

Really? I absolutely hated them and took it off immediately.

Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using DroidForums

Yes, you are not alone .... I noticed it as well, and I hate sounding this way, but it is such a gorgeous screen to boot, even when off hehehe.

I put an invisible shield on mine, and it retains FAR more smudges than the phone does on its own.

(This is hopefully a temporary measure for me - I hope that after a month or two, I'll hear that people who rock the Nexus naked are still happy, and remove it)

Yep. This screen resists smudges much, much better than any other I've used. I thought maybe it was my imagination.

Yup thought it was me too. It does resist smudges better than others. My Bionic and DX were a PITA to keep clean w/o a screen protector.

Yeah this is one unexpected plus to this phone that I'm loving. It has to have some kind of oleo-phobic coating that actually works (I've seen them advertised before but never experienced one that worked this well). They really should have advertised that, it's pretty awesome.

:( ... i put the have the screen protectors from VZW on there - and my entire screen looks like I've been holding it against my face (talking on the phone) for a couple hrs - has the oily residue look. I took it back thinking the VZW rep forgot to wipe the screen down first, asked them to redo it (before I even asked, the guy who did it immediately pulled a gal over and told her exchange out the screen, but not to put it on) - she put it on for me as I'm horrible with air bubbles. Anyway, turns out it's the screen protectors that are causing the residue looking issue :( ...kinda hurts the eyes.

So what do you guys recommend? I'd like to try something different, and a buddy of mine has a GNex on back order and is worried about the same experience.

Don't use the screen protector.

I was originally planning on that, but P3Droid had recommended using them, as the screen will scratch....and he emphasized that (at least that's how it seemed to me)

Yeah. Saw that tweet.

I don't know. Continue to live in fear and deal with a crappy screen I guess.

Fair enough :happy3: ...at some point I may try without the protector.

...but I'd still like to know if there are any good alternatives out there that people put stock in.

Yours not nuts.

I looked down at it last night and thought ... hmmpf.... this screen don't get dirty that easy.

There's loads and loads of screen protector reviews out there. A quick search should turn them up.
