Asurion plans to offer Droid X and Incredible as Droid 1 replacement

I think when they start to offer the droid x it will come in a new box because it is new hardware. if you go from a d1 to an incredible it comes in a new box. as well as some of the d1's people have been recieving. just my guess.:reddroid:

I feel the same why like many, although the X is nice, it just doesn't feel like purposely breaking you droid is justified considering its such a great device.

my wife's D1 has a really loose screen and I wanted to get her a replacement, if I hold out she could get a DX or an Incredible? hmmm...

a loose screen would be a verizon issue not an insurance issue i believe. You would get a replacement droid from verizon as it is under one year warranty

I'm having a similar issue except with the lock button. If I turn mine in, would I still get a D1 despite it being out of stock?

I had an issue with my keyboard and maybe about a week or two ago I was overnighted a "Certified" Droid. Have had no issues with it except my own failed attempt at rooting :icon_eek:

I keep checking to see if the Droid 1 is back in stock or they switched to Droid X as a repalcement.

Every other week the droid 1 is in stock and the next week it's out of stock....

I love the waiting game.

I called to complain about my earpiece speaker and my loose screen and they told me to wait for the new software to be released and that will fix my earpiece volume not being very loud. I have received a frugl droid earlier this year because of this ear piece problem, hopefully ill get a brand new droid this time. I loaded the new official 2.2 on my droid and the speaker is better but not that better.

Dont want to abuse insurance but i'd rather have a phone i dont have to use speaker phone on all the time.

^another instance where you should take it in to verizon. you will get a free replacement. With asurion, you would pay 50-90 for a replacement. (not sure of amount-mine is 50, but i heard others paid ~90.)

Still just offering Ally, Devour, Eris. My Droid was stolen last night from my locker at the gym. Damn thieves, scum of the earth. If I ever find the little creep I'll break his fingers.

without going through the whole claims process is there anyway to find out if/when they change the replacement phones? I have some issues with my droid (slider is pretty loose, and an issue with the headphone jack not working 75-80% of the time) but there is no way in hell I'm downgrading to an Ally, Eris or Devour... I bought a superphone not a kiddy phone (sorry people that have those phones but they are not super in any way). I just don't want to start a claim and find out that those are all that is available? Any Ideas? I'd like to get a D2 in exchange but I'd settle for a DI or DX...
