ASURION SUX! NO LONGER CARRIES Moto DROID!

Just went to a Verizon store and got their rep to talk to the "Asurion Verizon-Corporate Store-Rep" and got a new Droid replacement for my busted droid. They did it through "emergency replacement" from what I overheard them talking about over the phone, although they didn't charge me anything extra.

I had to call Asurion myself and then hand the phone over in order to get the VZrep to take any interest and stop shrugging me off. Just stay in the store if you need a new Droid.

i had the same thing happen to me. I was told that they no longer carried the moto droid in stock and they tried to give me this phone called the rock ?? it is the waterproof one and i was like that phone can in no way compare to my phone at all and had them look up the terms on which i agreed to the insurance and it plainly said that a similar phone would be distributed and i had them find me a phone that had android could keep up with my phone and all this was after i had my lawyer call them and explain a few things. idk what he said but a brand new droid was on my doorstep the next day after i was told they no longer carried them and they were out of stock

I don't like them, but this certainly looks like a class action law suit. I'm sure some attorney would love to get hold of this. They are the ones who really win in a CALS.

i represent a lot of insurance companies, and this whole thread is making me cringe and shake my head in disbelief. Assurion is setting itself up for some big time trouble - buhleeeeee dat!!

Well I filed a claim July 12 and I was quoted 3-7 days for a replacement (incredible) and its been just under 10 days and I have yet to see a replacement phone. Has anyone recently received a HTC incdredible during the past week? Or are we all in the same boat.

I came across the following thread about Asurion complaints. I am canceling my insurance and going to look into other options with my next upgrade (I have two available and Verizon keeps sending me emails trying to get to upgrade to an X for $150)

well after talking with them last night for about an hour trying to tell them that i would not except anything else unless it's a droid or a better phone, they finally agreed to send me an incredible, but they said that there's none in stock so it's on backorder still apparently. im giving it until the beginning of the week sometime then im calling them again. if they cant get it handled, im going to verizon and have them deal with asurion.

Incredible for Moto Droid

I read something about this a week or so ago..... However, from what I read, enough people complained about the replacements not being "up to spec" compared to the DRIOD, so they were offering Incredibles instead.


Yea I was given that offer but they are on back order and Monday it will be 2 weeks since the claim was filed. If it all goes well I think the wait will be worth it. You may need to be a bit more than patient.

So I call asurion, whom I've had for many years to inquire about what would be shipped of I made a claim regarding my moto droid.

Since asurion is not replacing moto droids with moto droids, I was given a choice of:
Eris
Ally
Devour

You have got to be f'n kidding me. I said each of those devices are DOWNgrades, the woman said that's my options.

I said I did not wish to file a claim then. Ill try for a supervisor later on.

I'd raise hell too. You buy their expensive insurance to insure your investment. You should expect at least a comparable phone.

I hate insurance companies. They take your money for years then try to screw you whenever you need to make a claim.

I just got a replacement droid last week, it just said they were out of stock. I waited like 3-4 days then they overnighted it for free

Again (About the 4th post I did on this).... Last Wednesday I took a friend to Fedex to get her Droid that was a replacement for a Droid. My wife works for VZW and sent out 2 Droids for Droids this past week. They are out of Certified Pre-owned, but they still have plenty of Certified Like New replacements. I have no idea how people are getting screwed over, but I know 1st hand that Verizon is still able to send out Droids. I'm not making this stuff up either. If you have someone telling you different then call back and get another call center. I'm not sure what's going on with these claims, but you can still get a Droid.

Verizon sending out replacement Droids are for warranty issues, Which has nothign to do with Asurion sending out replacement Droids for Insurance reasons....
