ASURION SUX! NO LONGER CARRIES Moto DROID!

this is weird, i have done over 200 insurance claims, i worked for a retailer and it wa always very simple, if its defective u get another one no problem, and if its more than twic ethey always upgrade you

have gotten a blackberry from a knack before, a imaggio from a chocolate three, a droid from a droid eris

so there should be no problem with getting a droid x from them

I find this hard to believe…..I have a feeling there is something more to this.

Dont care weather u believe it or not...THAT IS WHAT HAPPENED! Nothing more to the story....PERIOD!

Just said I think there is more to it, and if you read my comments further down it explains why I think this.

I'm not calling you a liar. I just think there is more to it beyond what you see and what they told you. People turn Droids in for repair all the time. Those are used for refurbs. It's just a matter of logic. Your story is what it is, I think the notion that there are no more Droids out there, ever, from Assurion isn't realistic.

I went to a vzw store and complained and they did the emergancy I have to have it now type of thing with asurion and I got a brand new droid. The store mgr was not happy about asurion giving pos instead of the droid

Its not that hard for anyone who doubts what I say to call Asurion yourself and confirm. The VZW rep didnt understand it either, and when he called...he was also told that they would no longer get refurbs or new droids. Not even backordered.
I had the same argument, I pay to insure my droid...not another phone. So I expect to get a droid, not what ever other smartphone they choose to give me. And if they cant supply what I PAY FOR...the choice should be mine as to which phone I want. I told them I would even take an Incredible, but said the Desire was my only choice. Assurions logic mad no sense. Thank god the reps at Verizon are as good as they are. Assurion need to take some customer service training from VZW.

I got a droid from assurion a week ago, didnt have any problems with them at all

If you read my story...I too receive a droid from assurion about a week prior, it was damaged. So when I called yesterday to have a new one sent, I didnt understand how they had them avail the week before and none now? Not even a refurb?!?

Mac….we believe you.

The question is what is the situation. From what you say it makes it sound like there will never be anymore Droids. This just doesn't make sense.

Now I went to their website and here's the policy on replacement:

Coverage objective is to fulfill claims with the same make and model you claim. If your model is not available, a like-kind make and model will be substituted.

So it's right there in the policy. If they run out they can substitute. So we can all cancel our insurance or hope they get more in stock. I believe they will get more in stock.

Whats the verbage for "like kind" The droid has an external keyboard, eris does not, that shouldnt be constituted as "like kind".

How come so many people are having problems with their Droids that they need to put in insurance claims.. I hope I didnt buy a POS phone..lol

lol, Verizon will take a phone back if you sneeze on it. Droid is a reliable piece of electronics. Many of the Droids that Verizon takes back is either user error or because they can't figure out themselves how to resolve the issue.

Most of the time you would be dealing with a warranty issue, not an insurance claim, for quality problems, or hardware problems.

Because All I had was a loose headphone jack but otherwise phone was working great...I even told them I would wait a few weeks until they got more droids in, New or refurbs. I was again told, no more droids...refurbs or new would be coming to assurion...ever. The most frustrating part of this whole this, is that it does not make sense! How could they not be even getting refurbs in???
This probably will change when they start getting alot more unhappy customers in the same situation as myself.
