ASURION SUX! NO LONGER CARRIES Moto DROID!

So I started this posting with a droid then downgraded to the gtc eris from asurion after 2 defective phones I called and was put on the d1 backorder and told they will call me in 3 to 7 days. 5 days later I called them they told me they have a huge. Shipment just in and it already left there wearhouse.so I check the confirmation email and it said droid2 as replacment equipment. At first I thought typo but as post this on my d2 it was no typo

Not sure if it was intentional but maybe others can try? ? Btw d2 kicks ass

So over. 3 weeks I went d1, eris,eris, d2

It looks like you were taken care of well since you went through so much nonsense. I'm glad things worked out well for you! Enjoy your new D2!
 
Well I dropped my milestone (and myself) in the ocean yesterday, teaches me to go sight seeing while in BC lol. Called up asurion this morning and after fighting to get my CC and shipping address to work its all going goo, getting a new milestone tommorow :icon_ banana:

Man i wish we had the droid 2 or X here in canada.
 
My daughter lost her phone saturday and my Droid was lost today at the dump. Came home and filed a claim by phone. The lady was fantastic! She did both claims for me. Deductable on each was $50.00 (100.00 total). Getting a brand new Droid 1. I was kind of hoping they were out of stock, just to try something new, but all is good. I love my Droid. Now I gotta re-root and some BB on it!

I give Asurion ***** 5 stars!!! Everything was perfect.
 
Finally got my Droid...a friggin refurb, and the touch screen acts funky. Notification bar jumps up n down when u drop it, freezes half way between screens, etc. So I called Asurion...again. Got told the same story..."Yadda yadda backorder yadda yadda devour or ally." So I asked to speak with a supervisor right away, she tried to get one but couldn't and transfered me to an Advanced customer technician who is sending me a brand new DInc, car charger, leather case, and ear buds, for my worries since he "has a little more authority than the noraml support crew." Shipping out over night tomorrow. Bout time they own up to sending out refurbed crap!
 
Called today and was told that they do have D1 replacements. Told them them about going through two of them already and that i think its a crappy model and i dont want it. Same thing, they offered the two downgrades, yada yada. Trying next week via email, Call center reps are not smart people. The only record what you say and fallow the book step by step. Funk you Asurion.
 
I have a droid 1, and wonder if my 4.99/month insurance is even worth it or not.
I am not eligible for upgrade til July 2011
 
called asurion on monday for a replacment milestone, it just arrived this morning (wensday). Its a brand new phon in retail box with all accessories. I was told I only have to send them the old phone back, and I can keep the other 16gb card and the old battery.
 
Asurion tried to offer me the lesser models b/c they were out of droid 1's. I refused to take them. They said Verizon prohibited them from offering droid 2s, x's, or incredibles. I said that wasn't ok and I hung up. I sent them a semi angry email that night. The next day they called me and offered me a brand new, droid x. I took that deal, and it came the next day. This happened last week.

If you could hear the dilemma I went through the past 24 hours you wouldn't believe it. Long story short, I talked to 6 different people at Asurion and told them I refused to downgrade to an LG Ally or Moto Devour because my deductible was more than they sell those damn phones for and they told me my only option was to wait on the waitlist for a new Droid which would be 2-4 weeks. NOBODY would even consider giving me even a Droid 2 for my anger and mistreatment. I'm still awaiting what they're planning to do about it
 
So... I got my Droid from Asurion. They told me on the phone when I filed that it would be a new one. It was not. It was a refurb. It wouldn't take a charge properly and when I pulled the charging cord out it went into a boot loop.


I call the next day and they tell me they have no Droids. I have to wait a week or so. Meanwhile my phone randomly shuts off. It takes a charge now, but half the time I pull it out I have to turn it on. I never complain, but tomorrow I might just call and ***** some.
 
Wow... I have a Droid X and I have always used Asurion's insurance coverage since I tend to drop my phones more often than I like to admit.

They BETTER have the Droid X in stock (new, not refurbed.. I'm not paying for a f***ing used phone) if/when I need a new one. I've been paying them for the last 5+ years I would say at least... and for them to try to DOWNGRADE me from one of the best phones on the market would REALLY piss me off. There would be hell to be raised, that is for sure.

Hope all of you experiencing issues with the Droid 1 replacement are able to get it resolved in your favor.

Pretty sweet that someone above me on this page got UPGRADED from the Droid 1 to the Droid X... kind of makes me jealous haha.
 
Don't over look getting your warranty through Square Trade Warranty. It is cheaper and easier than using Asurion. That is where I get all my electronic warranties.
