ASURION SUX! NO LONGER CARRIES Moto DROID!

Just got off the phone with Asurion and my phone is shipping:icon_ banana: Not only that the rep said they are now awash with Droids. Somehow they found another source for Droids. I think all the pressure from us changed the tide and got Asurion off their butts.

Can the title be changed to Asurion no longer sucks?

Awash with Droids??? I had to ask them for a replacement to my replacement today and was told it'd be AT LEAST a week long backorder for the D1, or I could get a LG Ally, Droid Eris, or a Devour right away. I went round and round with them and a Verizon CSR. I was told by the VZW CSR that the Devour will soon be the replacement phone for the D1.

Maybe it's their technique of making you cool your your heals for a couple of days and then a Droid magically appears. I told the rep that a Devour was not a satisfactory replacement. She just laughed.

I bet within two days you'll get a message saying your Droid is ready:icon_ banana: And you'll be singing the praises os Asurion :)

Asurion still sucks if they give you the run-around and try to rip you off by downgrading your hardware before they relent and give you what you paid them for to begin with. It should be F-ing illegal.
 
I went around and around with them yesterday about a replacement. The rep called down to 'advanced customer support' and said they could offer me th Ally. I said that wasn't comparable, she said that was all they can offer me.
 
Verizon is spending millions in advertising "Droids". We buy them, and we buy the insurance they offer us.

Then if we need to make a claim they will not replace it with a "Droid". This is a dis-service in my opinion.

I think from now on I will look at the phones at a Verizon store and then make my purchase from a store like Best Buy that stands behind their products with a better insurance plan.

I've never purchased a phone anywhere other than Verizon, but since they don't care about us after the sale, I certainly can go elsewhere. I have 5 phones on my plan, and I am sure Best Buy would love to handle my needs from now on.

Can anyone share what the experience is like with AT&T or Sprint in dealing with their insurance plans? If you break your I-phone will they replace it with another I-phone or will they give you a flip phone? It seems as though Verizon is really dropping the ball with this nonsense. And yes it is Verizon, not Asurion.
 
Doesn't Asurion insure the other carrier also? I know when I log onto their website to file a claim it asks which carrier I'm with.

I just got a new Droid through them Yesterday. It got Delivered Yesterday through UPS... They might be on back order so it took 3 days for them to get it from the day I started my claim.
 
well I hope there not like this for the milestones as well. Being canadian we dont have the droid so im hoping the milestone doenst have problems like the droids.
 
Wow, I can't believe it every time I read this thread. I had been following this thread for a WHILE when I dropped my phone in the toilet early last week and figured I was absolutely hosed at getting a D1. I called them, she put my claim in and said it would be on backorder for no more than 7 days. 3 days later my phone arrived. NO, they did not have any at the time I called but she said they have NEVER been backed up more than 7 days and that if they ever were you would get an upgraded phone (Inc, DX, D2) instead of a comparable model. She said they would not stop carrying the D1 until all retailers stopped selling them (Not just VZW stores, but WalMart, WireFly, etc., anywhere that you can purchase their insurance).


So if you break your D1, just call them and have them put your claim in and go on backorder. It is better than complaining or accepting a cheaper phone. The phone WILL come, just give it a couple days.
 
Same thing happen here..When i first filed my claim from Asurion the only options available for me were the Devour & Ally..So i decided to wait two days before completing my claim and they finally had the D1 in stock.Only Problem now is the phone that Asurion sent me is defected.The Headphone Jack is too wide so i cant even use the XM Radio app in my car or while im on a run.

So i called just the other day,raised a little hell and they still insist on sending me a phone that would result in me downgrading.I dont know about you but i love my droid like its a member of the family,so theres no way im taking anything less.Maybe,if i wait a while ill et lucky..
 
I don't think you guys understand, you don't HAVE to take one of the comp phones. Just file your claim and go on backorder, and wait for your Droid to arrive. Makes much more sense than checking every couple days to see if it's available and then filing. She told me 3 to 7 days and my order shipped on day 3. Not nearly as bad as many in this thread make it out to be.

Well based on what Velocity is saying it seems as though all the people in this thread that simply wanted their Droid replaced are blowing this whole thing out of proportion. They could have simply said they would wait for the Droid. And of course the rep he or she spoke with said if the Droid is gone at some point they would get an X, or D2 or whatever.... Sounds perfect doesn't it?

However if you have read every post, many people have not had such a nice experience. And there have been a couple people that got an Incredible. They seem all over the place, but I tend to believe the majority over the good service a couple have received. Now they seem to be getting Droids in again, but for about a week they were telling people the Droid was no more and their only options were downgrades. For now it seems getting a replacement Droid shouldn't be a problem, but I sure hope I never have a problem with my phone cause I don't have much confidence...
 
i just got a call from asurian corp. office today. i received 2 poorly refurbished droids and sent an email to the CEO saying that i didn't want anymore replacements or downgrades. they are sending me a brand new droid in the original box. we'll see what happens and i'll keep y'all posted. the link to send the ceo an email is Asurion | Contact Us | Email
i read that somebody else did this on another forum and linked back to these forum threads to prove that this is a huge issue.

i received a brand new droid today from asurian. not a refurb. they also sent me a car charger for some reason and some cheap earbuds.

the package has a shipping notification as "customer escalation"
the downside is when i went to activate the phone i got a weird notification stating that i currently have insurance with asurian but by activating the phone the insurance may be removed from my account. well if they cancel me thats fine, even thought i think its Bull Sh*t. but i'm sure i can find another company to insure it if this has happens.
So if any of you get a crappy refurb from asurian be sure to send the CEO an email at the asurian website link and if you calmly state your situation and repeat your UN-satisfaction you will get taken care of without having to call and get transferred from supervisor to supervisor and your blood pressure is sure to stay at a normal level. it only took me around 12 days from my first refurb to my brand new droid in the original packaging (w/ 16gig SDcard). i guess this proves that they do have non refurb droids in stock or can get them. all the while im sure hundreds of people are waiting on backorder for a refurb. ASSurian SUX (most of the time at least)
