Wow, I can't believe it every time I read this thread. I had been following this thread for a WHILE when I dropped my phone in the toilet early last week and figured I was absolutely hosed at getting a D1. I called them, she put my claim in and said it would be on backorder for no more than 7 days. 3 days later my phone arrived. NO, they did not have any at the time I called but she said they have NEVER been backed up more than 7 days and that if they ever were you would get an upgraded phone (Inc, DX, D2) instead of a comparable model. She said they would not stop carrying the D1 until all retailers stopped selling them (Not just VZW stores, but WalMart, WireFly, etc., anywhere that you can purchase their insurance).
So if you break your D1, just call them and have them put your claim in and go on backorder. It is better than complaining or accepting a cheaper phone. The phone WILL come, just give it a couple days.
