At my wit's end.....

So I dont know what the deal was with the not turning on. I plugged it in and the light blinked for a bit and eventually I did get it back on. It went to the desktop, showed that I was still downloading the apps, then got stuck in a reboot cycle. So I think I am just at the same place I was last night now.

Okay, we're going to try the RUU again. You can flash it as a PB31IMG or run it from your computer. Which do you prefer?

Well I dont know if I can get it to the desktop long enough to run the ruu. However the PB31IMG file from dougpistons site wont unzip on my computer, says its invalid or corrupted. Is there a mirror somewhere I can try?

You're not supposed to unzip the file- just rename it to PB31IMG. Follow the instructions in the tutorial. Your SD card is formatted to FAT32, correct?

So is there a way for me to push the file to the sd card? The only way I know now requires the phone to actually be on, but since it wants to reboot as soon as its on, there isnt enough time to put the file on the sd card

Ran the zip file from hboot. Everything went normal, said it was successful. Went to reboot and now I cannot get past the white HTC Incredible screen.

Okay, I'm out of ideas. Let's wait for Doug Piston to weigh in. I suspect there's something hardware going on and he'll tell you to flash S-on and take it to VZW but he's a magician at this sort of thing and perhaps he has another suggestion.

Yeah it could be a hardware issue I guess. The phone is new (probably refurbished actually). I had an issue with my other phone and the power button stopped working. So I probably only messed around in the new phone for 15 minutes before I tried to root it, so who knows what was going on with it before.

Do you have another SD card that you can format to FAT32 and try to flash again?
