At my wit's end.....

I tried the HTC Sync and RUU method right before I posted here the first time.

Right now I cant get to the desktop long enough to do it though. It will boot all the way up, start looking for a phone signal and then reboots and sticks on the white screen until i battery pull.

OP I think your refurb is bunk and would return it for another.

You have 2 options,
1. Leave s-off and return it and hope they either don't care or don't see it.( I did this)

2. Flash clockwork through hboot and then flash s-on. Not a difficult task by any means.

To do this flash this file through hboot. You'll have to rename it to PB31IMG. Once its done it will ask if you want to reboot, select no. Scroll to recovery and select it. Then get this file on the sd card and flash it like you would a rom.

Once that is down you be s-on. Now you will have to run the PB31IMG that you did before with the stock setup in it to get rid of clockwork recovery.

So I really dont know how to use clockwork...

But I installed the first two files like you said. Do I install that other PB31IMG.zip file from hboot or clockwork? Is getting into hboot the same as it ever was or did clockwork change that?

The PB31IMG is installed through hboot. Back the other up to you PC and remove it from the sd card. You'll need it later.

Follow that on how to use clockwork. Just make sure you select the s-on file. Also disregard the wiping of data and cache. Its not needed.
