Battery drains fast!

Last night I unplugged before bed. 100% to 85% after of 9.5 hrs being idle. Not bad...

What concerns me about this is that Android OS is at 50%, mine went to 45% the other night. Wondering why Android OS would draw higher percentage than Phone Idle....

I asked this in the other bat thread to no reply

does this issue look to be fixed by software? I really want this phone and plan to ge tit in feb, but if this isn't an issue rooting or an update can't fix I may just keep my tb

Yes it's software that can be tweaked or fixed.

That's a relief. I figured if I could get 2 full days out of my thunderbolt, theres no way the GN would be that far gone

there is a bug with kernel process keeping device awake and not allowing it to enter deep sleep cycle Issue 22878 - android - Galaxy Nexus ICS 'Android OS' High Battery usage - Android - An Open Handset Alliance Project - Google Project Hosting

i was able to reduce my android os battery drain by enabling bluetooth radio, similar to how thunderbolt has been having idle power loss with gingerbread update.
So, is there a fix? Or is that still to come, we've just phone out what was causing it? I know with my D3, some people when it first came out had amazing battery while others got like 8hrs(I was one of them), and then with a later upgrade it came to last 2days for me as well.

Getting pretty crappy battery life on my GNex. I have the extended battery and this is the best battery life I've gotten so far. I think it's going to be lucky to last 8-9 hours of honestly medium use.

Screen on time is 1hr 5minutes, by the way.

Good find. Hopefully developers will be working on a fix or Google releases a fix within 4.0.3.

Thanks for posting that!

Has anyone tried unchecking the back up my data in the the Backup menu under settings? Seems like that would take quite a bit of battery depending on the frequency it runs (i.e. every 15 minutes, everytime you open an app, etc.)

70%, stock battery, non rooted. Had only charged to about 90% this morning. And you can see I'm actually using apps unlike some screenshots that show nothing is being used. Not pictured is texting app. Screen is using 37%, on auto brightness with screen filter set to 72.5%
