Battery drains fast!

I know this completely defeats the purpose of an LTE phone, but does anyone have any numbers regarding battery life with LTE turned off using 3g only (and wifi off also)? I am reading that Qualcomm is releasing a 2nd gen LTE chip coming in the next few months and I wonder if that will help with future devices. Thinking I will hold off on buying the Gnex if battery issues aren't resolved.

I have the European version of the galaxy nexus and found that using a black background and black background during texting (what I use the phone for above all) + a black skin for the keyboard helped my battery alot. screen still eats up a lot but its roughly 10% less than before. Also checking the "only use 2G network" works wonders. Especially where I live since there's a 3G one baarely in range and the 2G is in "good" range but the phone prefers the 3G for some silly reason so it keeps switching back and forth...drains A LOT.

In the middle one I was only browsing/texting, still screen is 45% over anything else even when gaming. (have the brightness on ~10-15%)
During all these ONLY 2G was used. Only connect to 2G was ticked.

Using handsent sms instead of the normal messaging app. highly recomend it!

My android os jumped up too now. Couple of people were having that problem. I wasn't. My android os went from 15% yesterday to over 30 today.

Have you tried Watchdog? I've read the same threads about kernel issues in Android, and I'm wondering if there is an application (or two) that trigger the issue?

I got the extended battery right off the bat. Mine lasts 10hrs. Sometimes more.

If I use my galaxy nexus heavily my battery will only last me maybe a total of three and a half hours. I've changed my background to solid black which seems to help the situation.

I get about the same lol but I say screw it I ain't gonna be afraid to use my phone BC the battery lol I am just gonna use it till it dies and charge the ho lol
