[ROM] [BETA] CyanogenMod 7 for the Droid X

I was planning on installing Nightly #4 tonight, but I think I'd rather sleep and maybe screw with it tomorrow. If anyone's wondering where we're getting these Cyanogenmod nightly downloads, you can either get them through ROM Manager Premium, or through the Cyanogenmod Mirror Network.

If you lose superuser, you can download the newest apk from the following:

Also, if anyone needs help/is stuck/has questions, please ask somewhere before you try to be manly and "figure it out" yourself. This is how people end up with a paperweight or end up having a panic attack because they think they bricked their phone. It's easier to wait an hour or two for a response for someone than it is to go without your phone for a day or more. Also, spending a little while reading will save you a lot of time later on.

Just installed Nightly Build #4 (Cyanogenmod-7-06192011-NIGHTLY_DROIDX). Still no camera, my YouTube still doesn't play video, and GPS works but my weather widget still can't pull my location. Not exactly sure what was changed yet.:huh:

Jesus, I look like a post whore. Anyways, if anyone's interested in this:

Cyanogen CRT Animation Mod!!

It gives you the CRT Monitor flicker off when the display shuts off and changes the Carrier text in the notification pulldown to Cyanogen Mod. Less annoying than the other text that was up there.

Hey guys I updated clockwork using rom. Manager to the newest one but when I go into clockwork it still says I'm on 2. something ibsted if 4. Some Thing

did you follow phalstead's post on previous page? did you choose droid x 2nd init as your device?

I want to try this so bad cyanogenmod is the best rom out but i cant live without the camera and gps i dont care about youtube and stuff once a rc is released ill give it a go.

There is a GPS fix posted for it on MDW and you can use Camera illusion from the market if you want to try it out.

well the gps has been fixed and I am guessing the camera issue will be fixed soon. I was running apex 2.0 and was real happy but cm7 is a great rom with alot of customizing options.

there are other options for the camera other than just stock camera app.

When I click check for updates it does absolutely nothing like it was a dead command and when I search through download roms, I don't know what I"m looking for. Anyone know how I can get nightlies through Rom Ranager? Or do I need to just get them off the internet?

"Have you updated ROM Manager and flashed the newest Recovery (With 2nd-init as your device)? You should have ROM Manager v4.3.2.3 and ClockworkMod Recovery 4.0.0.5."

I believe this is your problem you may be having with Rom Manager...

Whooops.... I never re-flashed the new recovery after updating. Thanks a bunch, I love feeling stupid....
