[ROM] [BETA] CyanogenMod 7 for the Droid X

I gave it a try and I ended flashing back to previous rooted. 596 setup.

I chose the mdw clockwork method and upon installation I was unable to reactivate my phone due to a lack of the dialpad during the activation process

I understand where your coming from, I too noticed that there was dialpad when trying to activate the phone. The key thing is being patient, I waited 30 secs then it automatically went into activation without the dailpad. Now I got service.

Where are you all downloading the TBH version? I have the software (paid) but don't see it.

I'm not sure if it is on the TBH app. The link is [ROM][BETA] CyanogenMod 7 for the Droid X

If you go near the bottom of the 1st post you will see 2 monster mirrors. That is the version from p3.

Ah I see; I thought we had to do all of the steps in the 1st post. LOL OK must have been tired when reading this. Sorry to ask but for the Radio update when it says find the Monster.zip file which file is he referring to? The same file named update....zip or something else?

Thanks

I've had literally 0 of the issues that anyone here has had. My dialpad worked fine for the activation process, the keyboard isn't that big of a deal to me, I use haptic feedback and it doesn't feel like much of a difference from the Gingerbread keyboard. The only issues I've seen thus far is Youtube not working and my stock camera/camcorder not working. I don't understand why everyone is so hell bent on not having to SBF. Maybe it's just because I came from a Droid 1 and learned very early on that it's a hell of a lot easier to start with a clean slate when installing ROMs than it is to try to figure out why you're getting FCs and random reboots. And there's a reason this is a Beta, let's try to keep that in mind. I'm fairly certain the only reason he even released it yet was because he was getting bombarded by people who wanted to know when it would be done. It took him 10 months to get it to even boot on the DX, and he released a Beta copy maybe 24 hours after. Let's be fair, he's gonna need a little time to get all the bugs out. And I may have found a fix to this keyboard nonsense. Stay tuned.

I can't tell if this fixed it because the keyboard wasn't that big of a deal to me, but if you go into your app drawer, open up Spare Parts, go to the bottom, turn off Compatibility Mode and reboot, it may or may not fix it. /shrug

Ok I just screwed myself! Went to flash CM7 and right after hitting "mount system" I hit the back button (power) but then hit the damn camera button bu accident so the phone rebooted before I can finish my steps! now I'm stuck in a bootloop and I cant go into recovery with the "power/home then search button" method....I get a split second catch of the box with the arrow out of it then it quickly turns to a pic of the droid with the exclamation in a triangle! WTF...What the hell do I do now?

For some reason my battery life is not very good and it says my android system is draining it all..like 68%. It also reports that it has "kept awake" like 7 hours today. Any ideas why this would be?

Did you wipe your battery stats in recovery after you flashed CM7? And as far as it "keeping awake", I'm not entirely sure.

Press the search key

@JOx I did press the search key after gettinh the "!" but nothing happened...
@Phalstead...I followed everything upto where the instructions say "mount system" , which I did...then I hit the power button to go back so I can "install from zip" but I pressed the camera button by accident (so "reboot system now" was highlighted) and the phone rebooted into a bootloop....and as I stated the "power/home then search button" method isnt working for me either...
So, I formatted the system, cache and went back to install from zip but hit reboot by accident and now I'm stuck....
