[ROM] [BETA] CyanogenMod 7 for the Droid X

So how do you get gmail and maps/navigation?
the market
the gapps zip will assist you with that though. when you boot up after installing gapps, it will ask you if you want those apps and will take you to the app in the market to make it a little easier.

Hate to complain about such a great rom, but having to reboot to go from wifi to 3g is getting tiresome, airplane mode doesn't work now, it won't turn on, but if I reboot, it's on after booting. Maybe if there was somewhere to go to find out what bugs are being worked on? Maybe at least knowing the dev is aware of the various bugs?
In a separate issue, and honestly not being sarcastic, why hasn't the all in one fix (camera, torch, etc)been integrated into the rom?
Really liking this rom, and not so hot to upgrade to a bionic or s2 now, my X has never been better.

Hm, I've not had an issue with wifi or 3g. Have you tried completely wiping data? The camera fix hasn't been added because it's using files from motorola which is a hacky way of getting it done, cvpcs is trying to get it fixed only using aosp.

I just tried flashing this ROM twice...I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but it's still boots up as SSX. Like I never flashed the new ROM, only now the number pad doesn't show up so I can't activate my phone.

All help is welcomed

To get the keyboard to pop up, hold the menu button. Then you can dial *228.

I don't know why CM7 wont install over SSX. I just went back to CM7 from SSX yesterday with no problems

Idk what I did wrong, I wiped data, cache, dalvix, and then zipped. It went through the whole process, and didn't even get hung up on the radio, then zipped the gapps and then when i rebooted it it was the stock SSX. Should I do anything differently?

does it matter that I was on a GB ROM prior to flashing SSX. I used the prep flash then SSX. Do I have to SBF before this will work?

Anyone else getting lag after flashing nightly 42? Everything was super-smooth beforehand (on nightly 30) and now I get some chop. Also had some messed up navigation with maps today and couldn't get the audio turn-by-turn to work. Anybody else having anything like this or is my phone just acting freaky?

Mine is very smooth. I don't use the voice directions with the GPS though because it pisses me off, so I don't know.

And here's something else that's strange. I went into quick clock to mess with overclocking and it wouldn't load any of my settings. So I recalibrated and the my highest speed was set at about 950 and then when it loaded that was deemed unsafe and is now running at about 850. I used to be able to go to 1200 easy - very stable. Wtf? If things don't improve I'm going to do a wipe and try reinstalling the latest nightly. Any other tips or thoughts would be welcome.

Weird... I use Waze for navigation and its better than ever. Also in quick clock, before
42 highest I could calibrate was 1251. After wiping and installing 42 I calibrated again and now I can pull 1340. (I leave it at 1337 ;) )
All odd to me...
