[ROM] [BETA] CyanogenMod 7 for the Droid X

Anyone experiencing much better battery life since Rev. 97? Also is the plan to merge with GB at rev. 100? Or is there no numerical reference?

I didnt think there was a numbering system. I think it just goes by date for his and #XX for official. I do not know that there is an official date planned, just keep seeing posts that its getting close and it will have a kernel updater cooked in for those who are on froyo so no SBF will be required.

Could someone who knows the real deal please clarify this?

Revnumbers has nothing new for cm7dx since 8/29 as far as I can see. The official nightlies seem to have started back up on 9/19.

I just tried to flash the 9/21 build #98 through rom manager and was unsuccessful. After downloading I was prompted to reboot into recovery and install as usual (yes I left wipe dalvik checked). The phone rebooted normally so I booted into recovery with the power button and tried to flash manually. This resulted in another error and "installation aborted". That was using the file pulled from rom manager so just for kicks I grabbed it off the website through the browser and got the same error. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

He actually has a few newer builds, the most recent being a 9-19 one. He does not update his site or wherever it is he uploads them but RW does host the newest builds in his thread there.

And not sure what is causing the aborts. What version of CWR are you using? Maybe try downloading it from your PC and moving it to your phone. I was never a fan of downloading full ROMs via my phone. But thats mostly just personal preference.

Thanks for the quick response. I believe I'm up to date with CWR 5.0.2.0. Any recommendations on whether I should continue with attempting to get the official builds to work or stick with Rev's? And any chance for a link?

Sorry but do you mean you are on his froyo 8-29 or are you on his GB kernel 8-29 nightly? If it it the GB one then HERE is the link for you to get the latest. If you meant the froyo unofficial then I believe he has stopped those to work on GB.

I'm all GB man... I believe I'm currently on official 9/1... the last one prior to 9/19. The one I've been trying to flash is official 9/21. Going to check out that link now though... thanks much

The official nightlies need to be flashed on froyo (.340). The one I linked you too, the one Rev is currently working on, needs to be flashed while you are on GB (.602).

For anyone having issues playing back old videos on your phone and have tried everything and gave up, there is somewhat of a solution. CVPCS posted in his blog a couple weeks back he was working on converting the desktop version of VLC Media player to mobile. He released a pre-alpha download. Tested and ALL videos play that I had trouble with only thing his here and there sound might not play but video ALWAYS plays. There's 2 download files, Neon and non Neon. Too much to explain how to find out which version you need so either visit CVPCS blog or check this link, it's very helpful:

Feedback appreciated for CVPCS.

To check which version you need. Using your file explorer (root explorer is what I use) goto proc/cpuinfo and view as text. If your device supports the neon version it will say neon 3 lines down. It should look like this.
