Bionic Lapdock now $50 at Verizon

I think the lapdock is a great addition. I can't figure out why folks are complaining about using Firefox. Why not just use the browser on the phone? I find it much faster and no low memory pop-ups.

Got mine last night. LOVE it!
My only gripe is the trackpad. I really wish it had two-finger scrolling.

Other than that, its great.

Can't wait for Webtop 3.0!!!

thanks to this forumn i was able to obtain one from a local Verizon store. just started messing with it, looking forward to learning all it's capable of. for $50 you cant go wrong.

For those having a challenge with the space bar - my experience is not that you have to hit it HARD, it's that you have to hit it in the MIDDLE of the bar.

Thank you OP for starting this thread! I just picked one up last night and I told a buddy of mine about it and he got one too. I drove to my local store and the sales rep said they just had the lapdock 100 for $199 and never heard of the sale. I showed him a picture that one of the members here took of what the box looked like and he said their box was different and said he never saw a lapdock box with the Bionic logo on it. So I drove home and just for humor I called the same store to see if I could get a different answer from someone else and sure enough the guy on the phone said they do have them for $50 so I drove back and bought it. When I picked it up I told him another sales rep said they didn't have a Bionic lapdock and they weren't on sale and he said that one he sold me was hidden in the back so that other sales rep may have been trying to save it for himself. So the moral of the story is call multiple stores multiple times until you get the answer you're looking for.

I had a chance to mess with a bit last night and overall I think it's really cool and totally worth $50 but it is a little on the weak side and a little quirky.

- I noticed in Firefox when I watch youtube videos in full screen it can get a little choppy here and there regardless if the quality is set to 1080p or 240p.

- While watching Youtube my phone got really hot and my BattMonX app gave a warning that my CPU was at 49 degrees (if I remember right). After I closed Firefox I tested some games and the temperature dropped considerably.

- I tested Angry Birds, Tiny Bee and Eve of the Genesis and noticed that any time I held the mouse button down the games would slow down and get a choppy framerate. I tested this with and without a mouse and got the same result.

- Another quirky problem I had was when I docked my phone for the second time I got a black screen with a message that said, "No HDMI source detected" and then it would display my lockout screen for about 10 seconds and during this time the mouse would not work and then it would switch back to the black screen with the same message. I re-seated the Bionic a few times and still got the same issue. I had to reboot my phone and re-seat it to get it to work again. Hopefully that will not be an ongoing issue.

Those are the issues that I can think of at the moment I'll add more if I can remember or if I run across anymore. Other than that it is a really neat device and I'm dying to test it out some more.

I do have some questions about functionality that I haven't figured out:

Does anyone know how to perform multi touch inputs such as pinch zooming?
Does anyone know how to scroll down web pages using the track pad without manually clicking on the elevator buttons?

Don't know about the pinch zooming.

As for scrolling, I use the page up/page down buttons. I'm sure it'd be a lot easier if an external mouse was hooked up.

just thought i'd let anyone know with the memory issue....i had issues with that on the 902 update and the 904 update but the latest 905 update SOLVED it.....nice just letting everyone know....and also if that works for everyone....thanks for the headsup on the great deal BTW OP.....and thanks for being a great community on this forum

Lapdock works fine on my rooted Bionic. Scroll a webpage by holding down the left trackpad button amd moving your finger up or down. I prefer a wireless mouse with a scroll wheel. I wish I could figure out a way to zoom +/-. Some Angry Birds Space screens need to be zoomed out to follow the aiming trajectory. Any tips on zooming? By the way, voice search works great with the built-in speakerphone.

OMG THANK GOODNESS I DECIDED TO COME ONTO THE FORUM TO UPDATE TO .905. Cuz I saw this thread and instantly went over to verizon and picked one up for $54.34 total!!! Im so stoked because I was going to buy one off of ebay for like $80 but then I decided not too and then I saw this!!!!! YES!!!

Man you guys are lucky i cant find one anywhere around me. I saw the one on ebay for 80 but im reluctant to even pay that. Id actually like to have the lapdock 500 but its ridiculously over priced.

What area are you in?

Thanks Guys! First store had several of them this morning, but said they were $300. Second and third store were out but they had seen the $50 sale online and said I should print out the price and go back to store #1. It worked! The guy says, "Wow $250 discount!". "I'll take it!"

Me likes so far.

Got last one in Columbus Oh

The store I bought my Lapdock from said there are no more left in Columbus. Good luck to the rest of you!
