Bionic or Galaxy S2

Like my co-worker told me (Samsung Moment owner on Sprint), support for Samsung phones is nowhere near what it is for Motorola and HTC.

That is what holds me back on Samsung and LG devices.

Motorola and HTC don't have the hardware Samsung packs neither : )

All this talk about updates is a mystery to me. Verizon is to blame for that on the Fascinate..

The original Galaxy received the update. People also need to realize the Galaxy S was released in March and Froyo came out in May. So what was supposed to happen? Delay the release so it could launch with Froyo?

Also of note: The carriers across Europe updated the Galaxy S last year. If it was a Samsung "issue" none of those phones would have been updated

I would have to say the roadmap that was leaked is not true. It has the Samsung charge coming out on 4/7. You would think if that was true there would have been some sort of confirmation by now that it is coming in 3 days. With that being said, when will these phones be released?

The droid charge is essentially a 4G Fascinate with (I'm guessing) 2.2 stock android and hard keys. It still makes me wonder how the SG2 is coming out on the heals of this so quickly. Perhaps the Charge will be marketed as a mid-level 4G device. Either way, VZW is going to have options galore and confuse the living hell out of the average consumer...if the roadmap is to be believed, there is a lot of weird tech overlap coming that from a marketing standpoint doesn't make much sense. The Charge being one of those. I read how the SG2 has three different names already assigned to it...very well could be att, t-mobile and sprint. We'll see how it plays out. Since it was announced, I have been hoping this was coming to VZW. If it isn't, I can wait a few more months for the Targa.

Why anyone would get a samsung phone after some are still waiting for their froyo update on their galaxy s baffles me

As was stated earlier, the Fascinate is the only one that hasn't received it. It is a combination of samsung and verizon. Look at it this way...why would Verizon want to update the Fascinate when they can offer their brand spanking new Droid Charge with Froyo and 4G? Yay for open=telcoms controlling what you do and do not get. That being said, Samasung has had a bunch of trouble getting a bug free version of Froyo working for the fascinate. You want froyo, look to the dev community.

Why anyone would get a Samsung phone baffles me, period.
Would you like to share a reason for this or do you have an irrational hatred for certain brands? Surely a company with the resources that Samsung has could produce a decent product!

Well said. My only question is, is it 100% conformed that the galaxy s2 is coking to Verizon? If so, I will definately be getting the S2 as opposed to the bionic
