blur 3.4.2....

I'm used to the phone being at 30-40% sometimes 50% when I go to bed, and being dead when I wake up because of the phone is constantly going in and out of service. But the past two nights, the phone has only lost 10% both times.
A little off the main topic, but why go to bed without plugging in your phone to charge? Seems like the most logical time to charge.....

Because I run different tests to figure out how to get the best battery life. And leaving it over night plugged in, defeats the purpose for me. If I need to plug it in at night I will, if I don't, I won't. It's just preference, not logic.

I am getting bootloops after every install as well which is starting to get annoying. I wiped data/cache before install after coming from Liberty 1.5. Did someone find a reason why the bootloops are occurring?

In order to prevent boot loops, you need to boot into stock recovery, and wipe data/factory reset after install. It should then run flawlessly

No problem, I had read that someone else had the same problem when installed, so I just did that as soon as I installed and didn't have any issues.

I can confirm that the root method posted previously worked for me as well. It was probably the easiest root I've ever had on the X, to be honest. The 3.4.2 build is pretty impressive. The blur launcher seems to be hardware accelerated now - wayyyy smoother. Like HTC Sense smooth, imo. I usually use Launcherpro, but this new build makes Blur actually worth it.

This is probably the same issue, I think. I tried another version that just fc'd so there's gotta be something that we can do. I totally bagged the beta because I couldn't get it to work on my phone.

I'm having issues rooting 3.4.2 with superoneclick. Everyone says its simple so I must be missing something. I've tried both the newest version of superoneclick (2.1) and the older version. I've tried the debugging trick. I've tried running it in PC mode, mass storage, charge only etc. I usually get to the first waiting for device screen and then it either stops or freezes.

Anyone have a brief walk-through on how to get this thing rooted?

The way I did it was by turning "USB debugging" (under Settings>Applications>Development) on in the phone's settings, and setting the USB mode to "charge only". It rooted the phone in literally 5 seconds w/ no reboot required. Did you do a factory reset from the phone's stock recovery after flashing the 3.4.2 rom? It doesn't seem like that should have anything to do with root failing, but it's worth a shot if you haven't. I will say that my phone was boot looping before I did a factory reset after installing 3.4.2. These phones can be very touchy when it comes to firmware.

I should also mention I was using superoneclick 2.1.

It's because the factory recovery uses only the first "click" of the camera button. So when you press it all the way down like in clockwork recovery you accept that option and then advance to the next screen and hit the no on the "are you sure" screen.
