Camera Fix and it works

So has anyone decided whether this actually fixed the focus issues

I've been snapping all sort of pix around the house, and the autofocus seems to lock on right away. I can't get barcode scanning to work, though. Too bad the barcode apps can't illuminate the barcode with the built-in LEDs.

Uninstall and reinstall any apps that scan barcodes. I did for Savy Shopped and it works perfectly now.

It has to be a secret OTA update. I didn't clean mine off and it always gave me red corners. Now this morning it magically works.

Also, did you notice the shutter sound is gone? Did I clean that off with my t-shirt?

i don't know if anyone else noticed this but a couple days ago i had an icon in my status bar that read "loading data"- it stayed that way for about 45 minutes then went away... this could have been some kind of OTA update:icon_eek:

Didn't clean mine either, but it is now working perfectly. and I never got green before, it was that bad that I just gave up trying to use it. Now I have one more thing to love about my droid. I did notice the other night, that my phone woke up and started flashing while charging, that may have been due to the OTA, if there was one. Whatever, I am happy now. :icon_ banana:

If you look at your data detail on your My Verizon account, you will see one or more multi-megabyte downloads ~ 3:00 am in the past few days. We are defenitly getting OTA fixes, and camera autofocus was clearly one. I clean my lens every day, and today is the first day I can successfully focus, within a second, first time every time,. under all lighting conditions.

My friend just tried Barcode Scanner and autofocus works perfectly now. I noticed the camera working before out of nowhere too. Not to say a clean lens isn't better, but they must've done something.

They can't have. Let me explain; I'm in Canada right now on business, and I have data roaming turned off, and there is no WiFi at the hotel I'm staying at. Which means there is no way for my phone to get an update. (I've up here since Saturday.)

Yet this fix actually worked!! I'm absolutely.. Flabbergasted.
They will still have to 'fix it', because if the auto-focus is fooled by just a little 'oily film' on the lens it's not good enough, but be that as it may; It's working for now! WOOHOO!

EDIT: I'm probably wrong, after all. I did go to the lobby yesterday and used the wifi there, and I got the infamous 'Loading data' icon everyone is talking about, that doesn't go away even after a reboot. I thought it was in connection with another program, but the picture is clearing now. (Pun intended.) I still have the icon, because I left the lobby before it had finished.
So yeah, silent update indeed.

Waiting on my verizon insider to confirm this, but there's just too much information out there to even call this silent patch speculation. I mean seriously, 1,000 people with serious problems as of yesterday magically have everything solved?

Sounds like a silent patch to me, but hey, maybe I'm wrong.
