lol exactly...see they left that part off on purpose. They are laughing at us..

On 11/6/2009, Skynet became self-aware.

LOL.

Seriously though, I am of the opinion we did get a secret update, but, how amny of us with better camera performance downloaded the update to ShopSaavy that was supposed to make it Droid compatible (not that I had much trouble with it before). Could that have actually had a camera fix in it?

Alan

While i lol'd hard at the previous posting. The update to shopsavvy did nothing much for me when I downloaded it. I was still having issues around 60-70% of the time. Though it did help alittle, it didn't fix anything.

Everyone should look at their detailed data usage, mine below, I was asleep at 3:38am! I believe my phone reset itself at some point too. While it is great they are fixing things, they could break things. I at least want to know what they are doing to my phone.

I still think they did some type of update, friends of mine that have the Droid did nothing today and their camara's just started working better without cleaning the lens.

Mine downloaded 5 megs at 5:28

I wasn't awake either but I woke up to a text, like 3 emails, and 2 available app updates. Maybe those things downloaded 5 megs?? Doubt it, 5 megs is pretty big for simple emails, a text, and 2 notifications.

Nevermind, that was the 15th but this one at 6am this morning (before I got up), there was an even larger download (6mb)

I would like to get to the bottom of this whole thing.

I hope today that we get the answer if a "silent update" was in fact pushed out.

I'm not ready to go with either just yet.

No firmware, baseband, kernel or build numbers changed in the about screen.

Previous and current:

Firmware: 2.0

Baseband: C_01.3B.01P

Kernel: 2.6.29-omap1-g04df51f
android-build@apa26 #477

Build: ESD20

Mine had multiple downloads between 1:20 and 3:30 am on 11/14 that total to about 20mb of data. one in particular was 14,734kb and then multiple smaller downloads in that time period. I do remember my phone waking me up in the middle of the night because it reset itself. So I am guessing that is when the update came through. However I haven't tried my camera until this morning and it works perfectly!

I'm pretty sure that Verizon updates do not count towards data use, so any silent updates wouldn't show in a person's data usage history.

I don't see how it could have been a silent update. The time of the first posting of this was 12:50am. The following is from my data log.

11/17/2009 12:21 AM UNLIMITED MEGABYTE ALLOW
39.64 KB
11/17/2009 12:50 AM UNLIMITED MEGABYTE ALLOW
168.71 KB

The 12:21 was when i rebooted my phone, and an email came through. So i know this was not it. The one at 12:50, which was the same time as the posting was me accessing the web.

So if they did a software update, they did it without using any data, unless they don't show that on data views.
